Tell us of a world event which occurred in that year. If you can't find an event, or if the date is in the distant past or far future - make something up. Try to make it at least somewhat realistic if possible.

223 BC

(Greece) The Spartan king Cleomenes III destroys and burns the city of Megalopolis but the inhabitants are saved by Philopoemen who leads the defence of the city until the inhabitants can escape.

1188 - Maybe it's not that very important event but Newgate Prison was built in London then.
