Who reads daily newspapers here? Which newspapers do you read?

Broadsheet/compact, or tabloid?

I read both, but I can say that the compact/broadsheets are much more interesting. The Times, Independent, and Daily Express mostly. Daily Express is an ok tabloid for reading "shock" stories.

And no-one say The Sun or The Star, because they're garbage comics.

I read the Daily Mail. (I don't like broadsheets because they are too big & unwieldy - I know they've brought out tabloid-sized ones these days, but I'm a creature of habit!)

As for the red-tops - I only read those when they are lying around on a train or in a cafe, when I would rather read anything than have nothing to read at all. It really worries me that so many people gain all their "knowledge" of the world from this trash though!

Makes you understand why the world is in the mess it's in!

Subscribe to The Age here from Friday to Monday, and also buy Thursday's. It's a broadsheet which makes it a right royal PITA to read on the tram to work.

But thanks to the joys of the interweb, the UK Telegraph, the Australian and the NY Times are also regularly read...

The Daily Mail is another tabloid I read, but not as much as the Express. The large broadsheets can be unwieldy, I just go for the compact broadsheets.

It is shocking that people actually buy those "red-tops", they really have no news value at all, they focus mainly on giving ignorant people the "news" that they want to hear, mainly involving their favourite celebrities and shock stories. Yet again, many British teenagers my age have no real interest in the news, and half can't even understand the words in broadsheets/compacts. We're doomed.

I don't read them every day because they're rather corporate and not very informative, but in Vancouver we have the Sun and the Province.

I haven't bought a newspaper in years. Most of my news comes on the Internet from Reuters and the BBC with technical stuff from Slashdot and The Register.

Ed Almos

P.S. Did you know that printing ink used to be made from soot and waste oil? This was why newsprint used to come off and end up on your hands

Daily Mail if I get one.
I was getting one every day for a while recently, but only because of an ongoing story I was interested in.
Now I am back to not having the patience for the press.
I used to, as a teen, love sitting down with the Sunday papers. It was part of my routine.

I got the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for some time, but I don't usually read newspapers because they're so large and difficult to handle. I get most information from the internet. GMX and Web.de for the usual stuff and The Inquirer for hardware news ;)

I often find them boring/depressing, but there are occasional really interesting, exciting, uplifting, stimulating articles. Since I'm in Edmonton (DEPRESSNG place!), aka Deadmonton, aka Citalopram City, I read theEdmonton Journal, the Metro, See Magazine Rush Hour, 24 Hours, Edmonton Sun. LOTS of FREE newspapers here, incuding the Journal and the Sun, which are often distributed free to people here or there. You just need to know where to go.

I hate newspapers. They're a big waste of money in my family. My mom is the only one who reads them, and she only reads them sometimes. I'd say stick to either the newspaper or tv news. Never both like my mom does.
