Anyone here wear Birkenstock sandals?
How grippy is the sole material of Birkenstock sandals, compared to that of an athletic shoe (e.g. Converse Allstars, Vans, etc)? My understanding is that the sole of Birkenstocks is EVA foam rather than rubber, and I assume that this is the primary source of their cusioning. Is that how they are? If there were stores near me that sold these sandals, I'd simply go check them out but there aren't. I love the footbed shape of these sandals. I want to have a pair of sport sandals that use the same deep heel cup design, but none seem to exist, so Birkenstock Milanos with rubber on the sole and synthetic microfiber on the footbed seem like a good idea if they were available (a cobbler could probably modify them).
