Old is always older than me. A moving target.
For me it is relative (in relation to me, since I'm the one using the term), as well.
Of course, other people have different ideas in mind when they say it.
Didn't like "young" people much when I was young-to
some extent was "grouchy, crotchety, 'set in my ways' old curmudgeon" long before my age caught up with my personality. Wonder what I'll be like many years from now, whether my mind will seem younger or older than my chronological age (and physical condition/appearance).
Know this thread is about humans, not objects-but "old" can be great: a term of endearment & favor rather than derogatory. Many t-shirts of mine are 15-20 years old ! They are falling apart at seams but they are so amazingly comfortable & soft to wear, they're wonderful. New shirts are not as appealing to my senses because they are scratchy/itchy/uncomfy & haven't been sufficiently broken in. I wear the ancient (comfy) shirt underneath the new (pretty) one.
