Does anyone lie for no reason at all or for inconsequential purposes?

Sometimes I find myself lying just to find something to say. Other times I might be talking about something and just add a half-lie in the conversation to make it seem more interesting. I'm not the type that demands attention but I get really sick of the bs in many aspects of life that I just don't care at all about what other people think.

I constantly lie to my professors many times when I hand in homework late. For one class I lied to my grader saying that my professor is accepting the homework late when I never contacted the professor about that assignment at all even though it is obvious the grader will find out.

Does anyone else have any similar habits or stories to share.

Yea. I make up interesting but inconsequential stuff a lot. Probably because my life feels boring to me.

I hardly ever lie to get out of trouble though. The guilt and anxiety would be too much. I only do white lies. :)
