What's the Imperial System?

I think it is the difference between meters and feet, pound and kilograms etc.

It means foreigners who aren't from Mexico or English speaking people. It can also be deragatory depending on how it's being used.

It is the same as "Pakeha", that is what Maori call people that are non Maori.

I'm British and we "officially" stopped using Imperial measurements looong before I was even at school. My entire time at school, we used Metric measurements.

...I haven't used a single metrric measurement since leaving. I'm 6ft 4in tall, I weigh 13st, my house is 4 miles away from town, the cake mixture weighs 4oZ... weird.

In Canada we switched over to metric in 1976, there was alot of fuss about the change, alot blamed Pierre Trudeau especially here in Alberta, but its been 32 years since the change and some old timers still complain

We in the US almost went Metric about the same time but the USDoE figured it would be too big a learning curve and abandoned it.

I, for one would love to see the US go Metric.
