I feel that whenever I post a thread and look at how many people look at it... It makes me feel that they aren't posting just because I'm not very well known, or popular on WP... It makes me feel left out... :(

I doubt that's really what's going on.

For myself, I post if I think I can contribute, regardless of who started the thread or has already posted. I suspect that on a site like this where many of us have some communication issues, more people may be content to read and lurk than you'd find on other more NT boards. I'm sure it's nothing personal

No, I rarely look at who's started a thread, just if it looks interesting, I'll read it and maybe post.

Don't worry about it gismo, some topics just seem to be more popular than others. As Macallan says, I don't think it's personal.

Most of my threads die quickly. I put quite a bit of work into one and it's already dead.

Yeah, Gizmo, don't take it personally. I never notice who started a thread, I post if I have a strong urge to say something about the topic. (And you can see by my post count, it isn't that often :) )

How is "no" different than "I don't care" in this context?
At any rate, are you implying that WP is as big a popularity context as the (apparently) correct planet is??
Arrgh.
If this is true, is there a Wronger Planet I can join?

It's the topic that stands out for me. It takes a lot for me to reply at all online. I usually read & absorb more than participate, especially on big boards. Sensory overload.

I look at the subject. If it is interesting, I'll post about it. I love cat threads and anything regarding AS/autism or other medical topics.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me who makes a thread. If it looks good, I'll post in it.

I just post if I like the topic and I only go on a few of the forums.

Why would it matter? I haven't met any WP members in person, so I don't have any reason to dislike anyone or decide against posting in a thread because the "wrong" person opened ist...

what I meant was that it seems mostly that people will only reply to posts that popular people have posted

What, you mean like some sort of popularity contest? On a site for people with AS? That would be... interesting. Somehow I don't want to believe it.

Sometimes I get paranoid about that kind of thing too, but I don't take anything personally online because people don't really know me. Likewise, I don't dislike anyone I know online because I haven't met them.

I pay attention to the subject. I post because I enjoy the act of writing. I don't post on topics that I'm not interested in writing about.
