You can see the wavelength of the vibrations of metal by tapping a whisk full of pancake batter on the side of the bowl. Little bumps of batter form as the crests of the wave. I thought it was really cool, but my husband wasn't impressed.

I would be! It sounds cool, I'll probably try it.

I was playing with a whisk at work today. I'd stir the mixture until it was a mini whirlpool and then I'd stop stirring and move my whisk in the opposite direction of the former spinning. I liked the feel of the resistance.

if you take a pair of tweezers, squeeze them together and let them snap open - while they're vibrating, position them in front of your eyes at a comfortable distance between your eyes and the TV (while on) or a computer screen.

As a kid I liked to wave my hand in front of the tv, very cheap entertainment :P
Maybe it was more interesting that the show!

Sorry if the next paragraph sounds odd, english isn't my native language:
The other day I saw a very beautiful "water wave" when I put a plastic spoon down in the water flowing from the faucet in the kitchen sink.
I even thought of getting a camera to upload it to Youtube! hehe :)
