RickRolling is linking to the "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video, not locking up peoples' computers. Gosh, what is with all the members turning to trolls lately?

This was trolling?

Trolling's fun. I like to troll in this board. I am thinking of making some funny posts.

Geez, people can't take a joke. Here is a video I made about it. The picture isn't really that great and neither is my voice. Anyways, the prank doesn't do much to my boyfriend's computer. All I have to do is end task.

Yes. We can take a joke. This was not a joke.

It affected (possibly) up to about a thousand people. Each may have had to step through the whole sequence. Some may well have been badly frightened by the prank.

I tend to have up to twenty tabs open in my browser, many of which I hold "pending". In some, I may be partway through typing up a reply. Just "ending the task" isn't an option.

If anyone feels that they can post anything like this and get away without being punished, think again.

PS. I watched your video.

You have not given instruction for people using machines that do not have the task manager available to normal users.

You have not shown all versions of Windows.

You have not given instructions for MAC.

You have not given instructions for Linux (all distributions and window managers, including all versions with user modified code).

You have not given instructions for other browsers.

You didn't even seem to have JavaScript enabled, so you were not seeing the popups.

For any operating system: Attempt to close the window. This means Ctrl-W on a PC or Cmd-W (or Apple-W for those of you that are familiar with that terminology) on a Mac. A window will pop up.

This is where you hold down the Enter (or return) key until the magical RickRoll disappears.

I accidentally failed to ban tmad40blue. I've corrected that.
