If I could wave my magic wand and make it go away, I would.

I want a sharp sense of humor. I want friends. I want to be socially aware and know how to read people and stuff.

y'know?

Yes, I was going to post something similar but didn't want to offend others with AS. I feel like it's robbed me of my life somehow. Can't totally blame AS but still, it's aggravating along with the everyday stresses in life. I always wondered what my life would've been like without it. :(

While I do wish I could get rid of some aspects of AS, if I got rid of it completely, I know for a fact I would be a sheep. If my NT step-brother is anything to go by, I would rather die than be a sheep. And so, I pay the high price of non-conformity.

I have all those things except knowing how to read people and stuff, and I have AS.

I have always wondered myself what the world is like without AS. Would I see more body language, facial expressions, would I read faces better on here. Would I have more relationships, would I be into other things, would I be more spontanious.

I wish I had the opportunity to compare the NT experience, with my usual thought processes.

I know. With our intelligence and those skills added, wow, we could rule the world.

Well, maybe not rule it but we would be more successful in our undertakings I think.

hmm, I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'd argue with you, but I know how hard it can be sometimes. :( as for myself, I embrace the individuality that I have; I love to be different, even if I am awkward, socially. I don't see it as a lack of a sense of humor, rather as a different kind of sense of humor :D I've found so far that most people that I've talked to on this site understand my jokes better than those outside of the site. So it's not that I have no sense of humor, rather that I speak a different language sometimes. A language that other people with AS understand. :)

and we could rule the world! I would make eye-contact illegal >.> <.< >.> he he

and thinking from Einstein, Bill Gates, and other influential people, I'd say we already do rule the world :)

I could care less about Gates or whats his name
if I could kill the AS in me I would
I hate everything about it, I suffer every day because of it
and I'll die unhappy because of it

I've already accepted that I have to make this work. I will find a way. :?

I'm a comedian. I have alot of friends(I think). I am somewhat socially aware.
I used to be very unfunny until i got to aroung 17-18 and then I developed a great sense of humor at an oddly quick speed. I had one friend until high school where I joined football(I sucked but I was able to gain all the other kids respect through toughness and hard work, I always felt like I had to prove myself to everyone.) and then got alot of friends which helped me develop other friendships as well. I would suggest joining something where everyone is close. Social awareness had to be learned from what others told me and from what I observed. It takes time.

Marty would not exist. AS is what makes me Marty. I am very spontanious maybe because I also have ADHD. I was much less spontanious when I was younger though.

People know I'm awkward but they like me anyway because I'm nice, hardworking, loyal, and funny.
