It claims the following for me:

Neutral

You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

Not true, however. I can pick up local dialects within a matter of words, have been told I have an accent (Bawstin/Awstin/cawfee), and grew up in New England w/ a dad from WV.

An interesting thing I forgot to point out in my OP:

In words with an "-nt-" consonant cluster such as "Internet" or "international" I drop the "t" so it sounds like "inner-net" or "inner-national

In many words with "-kt-" consonant clusters I'll drop the "k/hard c," so "arctic" sounds like "artic."

You were raised in Texas, really?

From your accent I would say it sounds nearer to Minnesota.

Nothing specific. I noticed you wrote that you grew up in the Dallas area. There is NO HINT of Texas twang or southern lilt in your voice AT ALL.

I have no idea how to make it be in the message like Ben's vid. Sorry.

My family moved to Saint Paul in 2003 and then to Jordan in 2005, so I have been living in Minnesota since 2003.

Neither you nor your son really have an accent either.

BTW, I say the EI in either and neither as a Spanish I.
Who says it as EE-ther and who as AYE-ther?

Eh, I write like I talk for the most part. Albertans tend to switch the "eh" to the front in place of the back.

According to the quiz I'm neutral American. Doesn't surprise me really. People ask me if I'm from Texas a lot, because when I get tired I get a bit of a drawl/slur to my words. (I'm a central CA native).

I can pick up accents very easily though. If I hear an accent for a few weeks I've started to slide into that accent. (I picked up a southern accent for a few months that way :) ).

I am from Texas, and I have the "Midlands" accent. I don't have the drawl that most Texans who live east of I-35 have.
