Mario Brothers made my neighbors angry (I think)

Today I was playing the original Mario Brothers for Nintendo. I decided to crank the volume up on my sound system to see what Mario Brothers would sound like at a really high volume on good speakers. The music sounded kind of weird at a high volume on my speakers but I still decided to play it for a while cranked up. I continued playing the game at a high volume since I was too lazy to turn down the volume (the remote wasn't close by). About ten minutes later I hear this hostile knocking on my door so I quickly turn the volume all the way down. I was too scared to answer the door. It would have been too embarrassing to have my neighbor yelling at me for playing the original Super Mario Brothers with the volume cranked up high.

I just thought I'd share that. You might get a laugh out of it...

Actually, that is pretty funny - also, the neighbor was probably greatly relieved that you did not answer the door, since he probably wanted silence rather than a fight

Point taking there about avoiding a fight is good.

This was Mario Brothers though you fool. It wasn't rap or metal (These being examples of genres which would normally antagonize a neighbor)

If I lived that close to neighbors, I'd be considerate and not turn things up too high. I don't blame them for being upset.

Good for you. I wasn't intentionally trying to piss anyone off with the volume turned up high, it just happened. Unfortunately some people don't see the humor in this.

If I was to blast REAL music would it be funny? No, it wouldn't be. This was MARIO BROTHERS which IMO makes it quite funny.


I'm NOT the type of person who is inconsiderate and that's what makes this even more funny. They'd be wondering why the hell I was playing Mario Brothers at such a high volume.



BTW, it's not like my neighbors suffered very much from listening to the Mario Brothers music for a few minutes. Maybe you guys don't like Mario Brothers music much? I don't know...

NES has a triangle wave, which Mario brothers uses for it's music most of the time. Those sound waves can travel and rattle the neighbors windows. I'd know. I got a powerful 4 speaker Onkyo system (each speaker being like 4 ft tall).

Not to mention the higher pitched "clicks and pops" from the noise generator for the percussions. That can not as much be heard, but it can add to the anger.

*kicks in door* GRAA!! ! ME HATES MARIO BRO'S GRAA!! ! *kicks in t.v. and stereo then stomps out* GRAA!! ! Now for some soothing opera at ear bleedingly loud levels, b/c everyone loves opera

I do have a good sense of humour for your information. Yeah its funny for something like this to happened with Mario Brothers.

I'd have treated the neighbours the same way I treat Jehovah's Witnesses: I'd intimidate the f**k outta them... and then go back inside and only turn the noise down about half an hour later.



And it would have been Sonic in my case; not Mario. Green Hill Zone all the way.

It comes as a result of considering such people to be mewling, irrelevant, plebian scum... unable to raise themselves above ground-level consideration through any sort of intellectual merit.
