Teens get stopped by a Spokeofficer

I was in spokane yesterday and I was leaving the B&J park. I see these Gothic teens who looked to be about 13-15. They run across the street on the crosswalk when the light just turned green. I decided to not cross the street like they did, so I just waited while they ran.
Then after the light changed and I crossed, I noticed there was a police officer standing outside his car, parked along the sidewalk talking to the teens. I was so glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon or that would have been me.
I hear part of what the officer said and the kids. He says to them "Do you know why I stopped you?"
"No," they said.
Then he mentions they were jaywalking and they all said "Jaywalking?"
I dunno if they got tickets or not. I just started walking again to my car.

People can be really stupid sometimes. Why can't they just follow the rules, plain and simple, geez. I'm glad they got a talking to.
