now that the federal government recognized me as "disables" or unable to work, I feel useless like I'm some idiot who flunked out of school. I've always wanted to work but they're saying there are no jobs in the current market that I would be suited for given my disabilities such as asperger's, dyslexia, depression and ADHD.

Does it get better? Can I ever contribute? Do you think I'll ever find an employer who will be patient enough with me long enough to recognize my talents and skills and work there long enough to earn a paid week's vacation?

:(

that's why I didn't go on disability
my parents thought it would be good for me and I was being negative about it

but I don't listen to them about my life

well, if I can't work, I can't work. I'm not gonna keep subjecting myself to any more humiliation and degradation because out of the 87 jobs I've had since 1993, all of them has ended in termination. I can't keep doing that to myself.

I do hope that one day I will be able to be employable and the company likes me.

I am the opposite. I forced myself to work for 10+ years, and now I'm depressed because I'm afraid that I'll get denied again, if I apply for Social Security Disability. :?

Well what about putting your energies into your daughter and around home if you can't get a job. :)

Maybe it might be good to try and figure out why you kept losing your job, you might be able to find stategies to help get past some problems you may have.

Maybe start a home based business, you are very good with models and painting them, how about
making children toys, or making fishing lures, which can have detailed painting, your very talented.
You might even be able to get a government grant to start a small business.

Don't listen to them, I'm sure you can find something to do!
If all else fails, find a volunteer job, or work at home if it helps your concentration!

go for it! Be ambitious... beat the system and use your talents! Be proud.

Build up portfolios of work too.

You don't seem dyslexic.

I know how you feel. I'm much younger than you are but I have worked and found out that I can't do it. I cannot work at these fast food places and other odd jobs. It isn't just my AS either, I still have problems with anxiety and depression as well. I'm in therapy right now to get over that but the way I am now, I can never work anywhere without a degree of some kind, which takes a while to get.

Quite honestly, I can't give you any advice but maybe knowing that you're not alone in this will help at least a little. All I can say is don't give up hope, there is something out there for everyone to do.

My grade 8 teacher was dyslexic - it isn't obvious in many cases

I don't know. Just curious, do you know when you mix up letters or words? I hope you don't mind me asking.

I'm an idiot, forgive me.
