You haven't heard Howard Stern, he makes Savage sound like Ann Landers.

He hasn't said anything about autism and I don't care if he does, negative or positive.
But seeing as how we're all in the mood of setting radio shock-jocks on fire, I'll take a crack.

He sucks, his material is obnoxious at best, he thinks he's breaking new ground when he's really just making the same sex jokes everyone knows.

The FCC is bad, don't get me wrong, it's criminal what they're doin' to him. But that said, a little controversy doesn't automatically make something good.

Its because there isn't an autistic Al Sharpton (thank god).

What’s worse? Breast and penis jokes or outright bigotry?

I’ll take Stern over Savage any day. Sure, Howard Stern has had his idiot moments but he doesn’t even come close to Michael Savage in terms of sheer stupidity.

Howard Stern has made fun of people with disabilties, among other repulsive things.

Yes Howard Stern has said some really repulsive things but they didn't pull him off the air for that. They put him off the air for saying one too many penis and breast jokes or something stupid like that. At least that was the official reason. Not that I really cared.

Savage is worse though. He is open about his hate for homosexuals (not just making fun of them like Stern but actually spewing hatred) and I think he is racist as well. He hasn't slipped up yet and said anything blatantly racist but he harps on illegal immigration as if that's the number one issue in the country right now. Like stopping illegal Mexicans from crossing the border has anything to do with patriotism or stopping terrorism. The guy's just a closet fascist.

Yea the savages and sterns be annoying alright, but you know what be even worse - There be no savages and sterns on the air, 'cuz let's face it man, they nothing but bleeding ulcers on the ugly pox-marked face of civilization. Surgeons let the blood bleed out lest the fluids be squeezing out the space for the brain, ya here. The savages and sterns channel out the more extreme kinds of bigotry, immaturity and all them toxin-coated words we sling out, they expose them to the public and let the more reasonable of us point it out and disparage. Maybe when their words ceases to be niche that we oughta be concerned, but it seems to Omar that by then there be a more endemic problem on our hands than just some ugly surface boil.

Did anyone force you guys to listen to either of these men?
Tell me if Savage or Stern held a magnum to your head and told you to tune into the hate speech, penis, breast, mockstravaganza.
If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

Well, I've listened to both out of curiosity. With Stern I agreed with his opinions about half the time but some of his boorish comments turned me off. His jokes were always pretty lame. Savage OTOH was completely full of crap. It was funny listening to the call-ins arguing against him where he would just cut them off and call them names. That was like the highlight of the entire show.

Stern actually used to be OK when he was in national syndication. I used to like listening to him. He was a bit of a boor at times, but other than that he was generally harmless, if a but obnoxious. --I don't know what he's like since his move to Siruis.

I really can't claim any knowlege about Micheal Savage, though he seems to be a generic Right Wing AM Talk radio host.
