How easy is it to change your diet to exclude gluten, casein, artificial colors and HFCS?

I'd like to try avoiding these things for a while to see if my ADHD symptoms improve.

Means I have to stop eating pizza and drinking soda (grumble grumble)

It can be quite difficult. I've not gone GF/CF, however I have gone vegetarian in the past, which is somewhat easier, though I've not been vegetarian for many years.

I'm on a gluten free diet. I buy gluten free flour so I can make pizza bread pasta..

Yeah it is a lifestyle change and it is a hassle because you have to watch what you eat.

Gluten has caused me problems because I have an intolerence to it, if you don't have a problem with it the diet probably won't help you. My problems were caused by the gluten damaging my small intestines, thus leading on to other problems because my body could obsorb the nutrients it needed.

There is no harm in trying it I guess.

^ I have the same problem with gluten, but wheat appears to be the main offender. I seem to be able to tolerate rye. Milk is a problem as well.

I have started a low glycemic diet, and it seems to help me. I don't really know for sure if it is the diet that has made the difference, but time will tell. I didn't feel nearly as nervous or anxious today at work, my skin looks calmer in tone (if you can make sense of that).

^ yeah it took me a couple of years to completely recover.

I also couldn't digest refined sugar, so I went off that for about 4 months, I don't have any problems with that anymore. Because the gluten stuffs your digestive system you might find you can't handle other food.

Yeah you feel calmer, you are more aware of your surroundings, skin, hair, anything improves over time.

Me personally, it would be near impossible. I'm pretty sure whatever benefits I would gain by going casein free would be outweighed heavily by my grievance over the loss of cheese consumption
