WP has wizened up and put flash ads on the site instead of regular image ones so I can't block them

I get rid of chicks by feeding them to the cats that live in my garden.

i''ve never seen that chick, or any ads on wp except for google ads (which i regularly click on). and i only see those because i go into my hosts file and comment google sites out, because i like google ads. if you don't have a special hosts file, check out http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm . and pay attention to the part about stopping the useless service. and you'll be amazed. it works with any other os, too.

Same here: Firefox and AdBlock. I have never seen an ad on WP.

I was gonna recommend AdBlockplus as well, but the sites moderators might get angry since this is an ad-supported site.

However, I will tell you this. It's your computer, not theirs, so feel free to do whatever you want.

I only get the google adds and media adrevolver adds to the left. But, i have
seen several other users mention some annoying pop-ups or something
with adds on this site. Never seen them myself, but get alot of alerts here

wow, no google ads on top of the pages at all? impressive

I have to use adblock because otherwise I get sensory overload from the flashing banner ads. I wouldn't mind google ads at all and I wish the site used those only. I would happily click on them all day long...

Dont have much against google adds myself, as long as
they are tailored so the adds fit the sites content. Have
stumbled upon many a thing through google adds on sites

haven't seen that one yet, then again, my computer is a school computer. I should be transfering my files to my Mac that my dad purchased as an extremely early birthday present (my school is now doing full mac's this year, instead of choice of Mac or HP---Macs are better, they are the new frontier--okay end of propaganda) but yeah, my current HP laptop sucks, it heats up if two programs are running and I do something that requires processing time.

Good shot there. Isn't she in an amusing captured possition? She looks like she's about to run from space invaders.

I have seen her time and again on my MSN Today page. There was some blond girl that was in the same kind of add who also moved annoyingly. That one shows up alot though in my MSN, but not in WP. I get adds to, just not annoying, in your face ones like on MSN. Such as, the one that popped up and covered half my screen when MSN Today paged opened up the other day.
