I'm still learning about washing clothes, but I wasn't having much trouble since I had lots of dark clothes. Recently, I decided to get rid of about half of the clothes on my shelf (mostly graphic t-shirts, earth tone shirts, and clothes that got too big for me), and I got some new clothes which are going to force me to rethink my loads.

I can still do big dark loads, but I'm worried about washing clothes of different colors together - I get the impression that the colors will adversely affect each other in the wash. E.G. I got some fairly dark t-shirts - one each of red, green, blue, and orange - would these fare well in a dark load?)

Also, I have some white shirts with plaid patterns on them, and I don't know if I should mix them with the whites or the light colors (basically a light orange t-shirt, some really pale jeans, and khaki chinos).

For me, I use cold water and never use bleach.

You're kind of like me and my friends, we never had to wash our clothes because our moms always did that for us, lol.

My brother and sister washed their own clothes, and so did their friends I think. For some reason it seems like a lot of kids that are my age or younger didn't have to wash their own clothes.
