I don't really care too much. But I will watch the martial arts (boxing, fencing, judo, taekwondo, karate etc.) and the soccer.

At least it's not as boring as the Super Bowl...

I personally like watching some of the sports, as I don't see them very often. I remember seeing the gymnastics competition the last time, THAT was interesting. Wrestling of course, for me is where it's at tho.

I can understand the "boredom" factor, as it seems that most things that are super hyped by media or people around me are given the automatic "what's so great...?" thought by me when I actually "experience" whatever's going on... Hate hype...

I remember when I was a kid, always hating the Olympics because none of my favorite TV shows were on. Now I don't really watch TV so I don't care. I do watch some of the winter Olympics, just for the snowboarding, but summer Olympics hold no interest for me.

It's not like aspies luv sport. but it's something to watch, I sometimes watch wimbledon too.

Day 1 events seem pretty dull, it's mostly boring team games, beach volleyball, hockey etc. I think the swimming starts late in day 1.

Some of the individual events are more interesting. I don't mind weightlifting, some 'field' stuff (shotput, discus etc) and gymnastics.

When you think about it, it is all really lame what these altheletes do. Train and train to see who can jump the furtherest run the fastest. bla bla... I think you can find more interesting things to do.

But competition is competiion which is good to watch, so I'll watch some of it.

I don't car much about the olymipcs.

Beach volleyball is "interesting" for reasons that have nothing to do with the sport.

We had a satirical commentary here for most of the Sydney olympics (Roy and HG) on a 'yoof' radio station and it was hilarious, they came up with new names for certain poses and movements in gymnastics, like bending over with your legs spread was called "hullo boys" and stuff like that.

You do realise that the original olympics were done naked?

WGAF about it. I never cared for them.

Yeah and I heard about that and women were not allowed to take any part in it.

I wonder if future olymipics will some day be done naked again. :chin:

Sports/Olympics = boring.

All you do is sit there and watch. HOW BORING.

It is like all you are "suppose" to do is observe. Not really learn. Not really understand. Just observe. BORING. BORING. BORING.
