So it's true, TV makes you stupid.

Maybe giving them more free time and avoiding having the poor creatures engaged all day long in scheduled activities will turn out better persons :)

thumbs up

well TV is MEANT to stupify the population.. which is why they put so much money into television and not good things.. America watches more television than anyone.. America is also the most easily brainwashable population because of this, and Americans are the quickest to brush off history as fantasy unless it's 'breaking news'

TV sucks :x

Cool article.

The bit about the kids not having any creativity because they never have any down time was pretty scary. Kids today, from teenagers on down, don't know what it's like to be bored. They have to be entertained every second. They have their cell phones, ipods, TV's, computers, etc. They never just think.

I knew daydreaming was good for something. If I didn't have such a troubled mind I'd say I was healthy.

and you can prove this how?
it's really tiring that everyone outside this country think that the entirety of this country is populated by drunken cowboys who love shooting at things and think George W. bush is the infallible super-president who can do no wrong and that the Iraq war was the best thing to happen since the invention of the car.

No i dont think that.. but the retail industry is proof that America is the worst in the world for seduction.. Ive never been to Europe or any otehr place, but I can gaurantee that Americans have it the worst when it comes to this.. Individuals may know better, but as a whole the mainstream lifestyle is distracting, people don't stop and think enough.. the culture is becoming more of a distraction then a meditation on any moralistic behavior.. Im from Canada and Im not poking America, I think Canada is almost the same..

well that's true enough I can see alot of people around whose only point of topic is whether they just got the newest iPod or they've read the next "scandal" about the drunken escapades of the idiot celebrities.

your initial statement is true though, I looked it up and an average american watches an average of 8 and 11 minutes of tv per day, which is very bad.

Thank you very much for this article. :)

According to the article, I'm actually very good at daydreaming; I know when it's happening and I can acknowledge good ideas when they occur.

My mom says that my social skills have improved a lot over the past few months; which is interesting since I rarely ever have contact with anyone besides my family members (and even then, I don't spend an awful lot of time with them). I believe I owe this improvement to my nigh-continuous daydreams, which, like the article states, play out like soap operas; based around social interaction and relationships.

Day light dreaming topic

Sometimes I even have daymares :!:

seriously, though, i was chastised in school for daydreaming. I was even punished for this. glad I was not intimidated. One of my favourite pastimes, apart from reading, learning, perseverences and computer time. :D :flower:  :sunny: :thumleft: :thumright: :study:

I'm glad that some people recognise that daydreaming is good for you- all creative thinkers do it, and I can't imagine eliminating daydreaming.

all the inventors and great minds of history.. and they dont want us to daydream because that would disallow them to dumb us down.
