(Because I can't stand being bored around my house anymore!)

Lately, both my mom and sister wants to do is to either sleep, watch TV, or just talk on the phone all day, rather than going outside and doing something or going somewhere and when I do ask them those things, they always make up some dumb excuse like it's too expensive, too hot or cold, too far to drive, or doesn't want to do it in general, should I tell them to "suck it up and do it" or just handle being bored for the rest of my life around my house?

Personally, i wouldn`t depend on the family
to have fun, you`re on your own in a way,
but guess it varies from family to family

I could, but unfortunely, I have no job, no car, or even no money to do that. Also, my mom is way too overprotective of the stuff I do (and I'm 17).

Didnt mean "on your own" as in "living on your own". Its more like
as a kid i could be at home with all the family but i was alone i
felt, i made up the fun for myself without money, car or job, i
never went to the family to have fun, that was often a solo project.
17 you say, maybe you`re on your own soon, times fly so enjoy it while
you can or something. When i was 17 i had my own rented appartment
and was on my own 300 kilometers away from any family, and had lived
there for a year already. (but i left the nest a little to soon). I dont know,
not easy having fun - good luck - hope things gets better

Why dont you set a future date with the family for an activity so you could be fairly sure that when the date comes you dont back down. Maybe ask what things they want to do and set a goal, convince them that it would be an adventure to go or something like that.

This is off-topic, but i just noticed the "making plans"-thingy.
For some reason i back down 90% of the times if i make
a "yes we`ll do that for sure in two weeks" plan. Its really
dumb, for some reason i start to stress as it gets closer
to that date and end up thinking "to hell with it" and cancel,
even if i really want to do it! so my "sure thing" plans
are more like "yeah lets just wait and see, sounds fun" and
then it happens :) plain weird or dumb or something, just
dont like having things hanging over me with the "has to!" label,
think it has something to do with that and it just takes a little
control or something. I`ve canceled so many things i really
wanted to do, it makes me wanna cry when i think about it

edit----
i actually did this not long ago, made plans with an old friend
from way back, we were going to meet and spend a day
together in three days. The day before we are to meet, i
send a message and cancel :x got a message back
"oh no, i really wanted you to come"...and i really wanted
to meet again :x damn what a waste. And of course i spent
the next week kicking myself and feeling bad about it, it
just makes so little sense i get dizzy and slightly upset
just writing about it...

Well it could be daunting having something definet, sometimes the whole just going out and doing something can be good like some places I lived I often thought about just boarding a train and doing whatever hapends. If there is good public transport just going out and have random things happen can be fun, like in Brisbane you could take a traine to centeral which also had a McDonalds so lunch was easy. You could then go walk around the city, with shops museam etc.

Sometimes doing the things that are most scarey to you can be the best.
