Indeed, I will go for a diagnosis soon, but I can't help but let my curiosity take me to a bunch of silly online tests! :D

Seriously, every test says I have eveything, because they specialise so much in one area, pertaining to a developmental disorder, that they can't not say a person has the disorder. Cannot rule out the possibility and I wonder if it all boils down to the fact that some organisations WANT MONEY! Money rules [it does not] but all I can say is, I don't know what to believe.

Maybe I have a different disorder every day! At the moment I have ADHD [do I?] whereas a few months ago I had aspergers, shortly after: PDD NOS.

I bet there are loads of people out there who have recieved a wrong diagnosis, and I just wonder, what's the point?

To get an official diagnosis.

I hear you, I was diagnosed with ADD, Depression, OCD and other things. I had all kinds of trouble in school and it wasn't until I had so many breakdowns that I was ever diagnosed with aspergers. The only way they ever got a diagnosis from me was when my mom had found it on a website. Well my mom knows me better than these psychiatrists so I fit into the criteria.

I never even heard of PDD or AS. I heard about autism but thought of it as some form of retardation.

AS varies BTW. Some are more high functioning than others.

Is it possible that you are not answering the test questions carefully enough. People tend to get led by questions. Try having a contentious attitude next time you take a test.

I think some test don't take into account a persons age either. I tried the RDOS test twice. Answering all questions truthfully. The first time as I am now (aged 48) and a second time as I would have answered the questions when I was younger (early twenties).

The results were quite different. What the RDOS test in particular did not take into account was how much I have learned to handle life, people and situations in general. I am much more comfortable around strangers and talking to them for example now. I have learned to compensate for many of problems I once faced. The physical symptoms are still there but my psychology has drifted closer to emulating NT now. I'm still Aspergers, but not so extreme. I can pass as "normal" or just a little eccentric to most people now - until I go off on a pet Aspie subject  or they notice my subtle stims.
