Yup, I've been there. Canada. A massive entity that's rather cultureless but not without some great bits. I stopped in Toronto for two and a half weeks. The PATH is a testament to human awesomeness, the CN Tower is really nice and I like the way you can pretty much get anything you want - the easiness of getting around was very refreshing. There is such a varied amount of cuisine in Toronto from all the immigrant populations that it's really quite a wonder to behold - I had Viernamese, Chinese, Portuguese, Greek, American, British... the list goes on. I visited the Falls and Stouffville, a small town about an hour outside the city.

The downsides?

Canadians are a weird people. They are like they're portrayed on South Park - particularly that episode Canada's On Strike!

Why is it that the food usually tastes better in fast-food joints than proper restaurants? A serious failing if you ask me.

Their tax system is nuts. A can of Coke isn't 50p, oh no, they have to add on umpteen alphabet soup tax rates onto it too so it becomes more like 70p. I know the Americans do this but why not just have a 'before' and 'after' tax price?

You can't get a proper beer anywhere; barstaff act like the Taliban.

The people constantly fish for tips all the time.

A great country but I think I will visit another part next time round - maybe Calgary.

Anyway, how are all you lot getting on? :)

"""Why is it that the food usually tastes better in fast-food joints than proper restaurants?"""

Wild stab in the dark, guessing its because it tastes that way to you.
But, that doesn`t mean it is so.

I know good food when I see it. Spending £8 on a pizza (where they can't be bothered to make their own base!) sucks when you can get something nicer down the PATH (like a souvlaki) for four quid.

Wow, thats a steep price for a pizza 8O

You know good food you think is good,
still it can be crap to others, was my point,
nothing important, a small sidenote or
something

Actualy we pronounce Z as zed not zee aswell, though thanks to sesame street I used to say it wrong all the time. Oh weird Al does some good songs, like in the movie Spy hard.

You should hear how Minnesotians and people around the Dakotas parts sound. Their accents are even heavier than the Canadians.

They sound like Swedes...ja ja ja.

I think those places were mostly migrated by the Swedes.

always some tall blonde "dumb" guy
or girl from sweden

Ja = Yes
for those that didn`t know already

Anyone remember "the swede" from that
Clint Eastwood movie..

And Fargo, that movie has alot of Ja`s in it
