Yup, I've been there. Canada. A massive entity that's rather cultureless but not without some great bits. I stopped in Toronto for two and a half weeks. The PATH is a testament to human awesomeness, the CN Tower is really nice and I like the way you can pretty much get anything you want - the easiness of getting around was very refreshing. There is such a varied amount of cuisine in Toronto from all the immigrant populations that it's really quite a wonder to behold - I had Viernamese, Chinese, Portuguese, Greek, American, British... the list goes on. I visited the Falls and Stouffville, a small town about an hour outside the city.
The downsides?
Canadians are a weird people. They are like they're portrayed on South Park - particularly that episode Canada's On Strike!
Why is it that the food usually tastes better in fast-food joints than proper restaurants? A serious failing if you ask me.
Their tax system is nuts. A can of Coke isn't 50p, oh no, they have to add on umpteen alphabet soup tax rates onto it too so it becomes more like 70p. I know the Americans do this but why not just have a 'before' and 'after' tax price?
You can't get a proper beer anywhere; barstaff act like the Taliban.
The people constantly fish for tips all the time.
A great country but I think I will visit another part next time round - maybe Calgary.
Anyway, how are all you lot getting on?
