A partition on my computer at home has corrupted and is completely inaccsessible, but other partitions on the drive are fine. Is there anything I can do to fix it or have I just lost everything?

Please help!

PS The operating system is Vista. Yes I KNOW it's crap. I didn't choose it.

Assuming Vista is still runnable, try accessing the broken partition as follows:

Click Start > Administrative Tools > Computer Management

Select: Disk Management

Is that partition visible? If so right click it and see what options are available.

If you have lost the partition because you previously installed another os such as Ubuntu, then I suggest you ask in the computing forum, they may be able to give more detailed help.

should be able to recover/repair it with the windows disc-as long as dont format.

why was it corrupted? if its something that happened through own error, there should be a restore point from before it all went wrong-but that is only if can get into windows.

If you're trying to recover files, there are various programs for that purpose...if you're just trying to recover the partition, that'll be a lot simpler.
