My family and I were considering joining a gym and I was curious if anyone from WP go to a gym. I'm not overweight by any stretch of the imagination LOL! I just sit at home doing nothing so it'd get me out of the house and would help me tone out and help with my knee injury (happen April 13th 2007 had surgery etc. haven't been able to run since!!) :-)

I go to a gym at least once a week. It's a great thing to help you feel good and keep in shape. I think it's a great idea. :D

I do it at home. 15 minutes to the gym, 15 minutes
back, 15 minutes parking and stuff - thats a 45
minute workout lost 8O and I`m paying for it
+ theres alot of people around usually, dont see
many upsides to it, unless one likes the company.
If i were to do it at a gym i would never get it done,
i would think "nah, all that driving and stuff, i`ll do it
tomorrow" every day :) Now its just 30 seconds away,
in the basement, easy accecabel and ready to use
anytime i feel like it be it day or night.

But anyway, working out is a great idea, the brain likes it,
one feels better.

I jog a lot outdoors, even when it snows/rains/whatever weather conditions. really helps. just get yourself some good running shoes and forget about paying membership fees!

I agree about the membership fees.
(and the jogging)

Here almost every gym has this riddicolous thing,
you have to sign up for a loong period of time when
you sign up, often a year or two. So, when you stop
going there after three weeks, they have a straw in
your wallet for the next two years and no expenses
since your not going  its just horrible, i see people
do that over and over, total scam.

Hmm.. i really should open a gym..think of all the $`s
i would make on other people not training

yeah, the rates are bloddy ridiculous, and all for the joy of using a place with air-con while you can jog out there in fresh air ;p wins for me.

when i'm not rowing i go to the gym for winter training frequently. it's on campus and the membership fee is included in tuition so it's free and convenient. i love working out, love lifting weights, i've grown to love cardio, so i even enjoy the off-season (though not nearly as much as my actual rowing season, but it's not terrible).
