And How Many Cat Haters or ones that aren't particularly crazy about them?

I just notice that there's a lot of cat lovers on this site and some other aspie related sites. At first I thought I was one of those rare cat lovers cos in my life, most people in general aren't crazy about them. In fact I hear people gripe all the time about them.

Don't get me wrong, I also love dogs but I've had a hard time taking care of them. The ones that I've had in the past seem to have suffered from strange ailments. I had one not too long ago pass away....:(

BTW, I'm allergic to cats but that's never been issue for me not to like them so count your self in if you don't own one. I guess they just grew on me as I don't have allergies to them like I use to.

EDIT

Can't change my poll so just put your own input!

I've always loved cats! So guess you could call me a destined cat lady from birth.

Many of the people at my schools I have come across, they really like dogs, and I never really understood why they liked dogs. I mean, I don't mind dogs, but cats...they're my people. They're my family. I feel as if I am apart of their Felidae.

So whenever people say, "I hate cats" or insult them in any way, I get offended.

I have only one 16 year old, but she has enough attitude to make up for a few more. 8)

Hey me too, allergic to them (well, as a kid I was alllergic to EVERYTHING), and used to have some cats, because "my love is greater than my allergies"

You should get a short hair siamese, they're less prone to causing allergies or there's always the option of allergy pills. That is if you want them bad enough. I know I did....

siamese? They're so ulgy!
doh  nevermind, I was thinking of some ugly hairless cats, egyptian I think.

I've heard siamese cats are kind of high maintenance, or hard to take care of, don't know why is that.

I'd like a cat a lot :(
but I think they were in part guilty of bringing my defenses down, I got sick of almost everything when I had them :(

Are not, they is cute... :(

I think the hairless ones you're thinking of are the Rex. The Egyptian Maus have spotted coats. Siamese cats are not hairless.

You mean they weakend your immune system...strange.

I love kitties! They really are the best pets: independent, yet affectionate when they want to be.

Yes, as a kid I was allergic to everything :( And also suffered from a kind of asthma, so I spent lots of time at home, and sick...
Anyway, as I grew up I started to get better, BUT, one cat entered my life, Rita . She was a very pretty cat, I even let her sleep in
my bed, and we got along great, she was not mine but she was with me all the time. Sometimes she made me sneeze, and I started to
be allergic to cheese and some soy sauces. Later I had another cat, "gris" (gray), this one had shorter hair. I don't know if it was the
cat or if the cheese was of bad quality, but it started suddenly and that's the only thing I think that could be related.
Now I don't like to eat cheese when out, in case anything happens...

Well, I could try again :D

EDIT: you're right, I was talking about Sphynx cats 8O
siamese they is cute!! :D

^Couldn't hurt but if it really messes with your health it's probably not worth the risk.

Asthma..I wonder if that's where they came up with the myth that cats can steal a child's oxygen... :?:
