I do because many of our problems stem from their being far to many people on earth right now. Our planet is having trouble sustaining almost seven billion people if we don't do something things will get much worse. Look at it this way if you live on an remote isolated island and there is just enough resources on the island to support for 4,000 people in the year 2009 and the projected population for 2015 is 8,000 people then population control is a must because if you use up to many resources before they can be replenished the people will suffer.

We should get rid of all the people who have mental illnesses and disorders, gays, bisexuals, pedophiles, criminals, people w/ birth defects, etc. *Puts a gun to her head*

So if someone goes against this do they get fined, arrested, kill the baby or a mix?

Most likely they would result in fines, or forced surgeries to prevent more children from being born. I know overpopulation don't sound that bad but it is connected to so many of our problems such as global warming, increased crime rates, people dying of starvation, animal going extinct that would naturally not go extinct for millions of years. Since we are the most advanced beings on earth that we have a responsibility to not trash the planet and ruin everything for the rest of the world.

I know population control sounds harsh but really if we don't do something soon as in the next 10-20 years our reality will be much harsher and much darker than you could ever imagine.

Are we as advanced as we think we are? We think there are too mamy pigeons for an example. I blame the people who are "anti-abortion" The animal kingdom sort themselves out without laws for many years, why can't we do the same without being put in a room for a pre-determined time or forced to trade/bribe (fines) to make people happy....

I do think there are too many people on this planet. Free will etc, and everyone wants a baby. Some of those that have more are not good as more people will be needed to sustain their need for pro-creation. etc

OK, now I'm rambling

My thought is that what natural disasters are for, probably more disasters will happen before we get back to a steady population, who knows half a contenent might get destroyed to fix the population.

I support eugenics (NOT the nazi one!), which includes controlling the population.

I'm doing my bit for the environment: I'm not having kids.

I've heard that those little nippers are very expensive and demanding on your time and energy.

I having nothing against kids, but 24-7 having to do everything for them, discipline them and manage their hygiene?

Oh dear...It'd be too much to cope with.

Where I live's much too overpopulated as it is...

Getting rid of religion would be a good start to population control.

Humans breed like vermin. Sooner or later, there won't be enough resources to feed everyone. So I would be in favor of it, but how could one possibly enforce it?
