Wrong Planet is great and all, but I can't find many republicans on the internet nowadays... or in real-life, besides most of my family, have any suggestions?

It might also be good to not base friends on their political stance, if that's what you're getting at. For discussion about politics, sure that's okay.

I wouldn't let politics get to you. People have their own political opinions and beliefs and leave it at that. Just don't discuss them. Respect their opinions and tell them to respect yours and leave it at that.

Look on the bright side, try to see it as a perfect opportunity to educate the politically impaired about the errors of their ways. Where else but WP would you find such a nest of liberals, socialists, Greens, Democrats, and even the occasional communist all in the same place? Preaching to the choir gets old after a while, it's much more fun to enter the lion's den and try to convince them that everything they know is wrong. If nothing else, you will find out about all the holes in your own beliefs very quickly, and either hone your arguments to a razor edge or be forced to reevaluate your positions.
