very very recommended-a site called freecycle.
it has seperate groups for each area in each country and people go on it and offer anything of theirs that is unwanted from computer games,to computer monitors to cat stuff or tvs,and also people request things on it.
the idea being that the stuff is unwanted and lying there so may as well just give it to someone who could use it,and the next person does the same with something of theirs and so on.
most will say need to come and get the stuff wont deliver, but cant argue if its free and are able to.
also,new stuff comes along often.

go to http://www.freecycle.org/
to look for group closest to self, and join-are not able to see whats available till have been accepted by mods/admin but that doesnt take too long.

not spotted anything want for self on there up to now,but have spotted a bundle of recent golf magazines going spare, and am going to tell dad to tell sisters boyfriend/a show off golfer about these.
there's someone wanting cat stuff for their new kitten they were collecting today,so have offered some good food bowls.

good site-get rid of stuff that dont want and get stuff that do want.

The freecycle i belong to is a yahoo group...people just post stuff they want to give away for whetever reason. I've never been to craig's list, but i thought they were more like e-bay? I think the Freecycle was mostly started so people could give away stuff they don't need to someone else who might need it, rather than whatever it is ending up in a landfill somewhere.

Ahh yes my uncle uses this and it's very good although you have to pick stuff up yourself.

I may look into using it myself.
