Recently someone I know dropped a pan of boiling hot chip fat on the floor and he then tripped over and landed on the boiling fat on his back, becasue at the time he was drunk. He had to be airlifted to hospital and is having skin graphs and a 6 hour operation.

How painful could you imagine this would have been for him when he dropped on to the boiling fat?

Yeah but surely he would have quickly sobbered up when he realised the serioussness of what happened. And considering how hot the chip must have been.

Better that you ask him than speculate with strangers.

You can't magically "sober up".

Or can you? :chin:

I think since he was drunk, it is possible the alcohol's effect on his brain might blunt some of the pain signals he was getting from his burned back. But that only lasts whilst he's drunk, he'll be in a world of pain once the effect wears off.

Imagine how painful it would have been if he was sober when it happened 8O . This guy used to be in the army though in the 1970-1980's so maybe he would have been used to feeling pain?

Sadly this person had died from his burns this morning. I am a little sad about it to be honest since he was kind of part of my family :(
