When you start shaving daily does that mean you have stopped growing physically?

Fnord this was question was not intended to be a hair topic, but more a question of when you finish puberty. I think you misunderstood my question.

You stop growing when you become 18.

that's a bit of an oversimplification and not completely correct. your growth will usually stop at the end of puberty, which is generally somewhere between 17 and 20. facial hair starts to develop near the end of puberty but continues to develop beyond puberty. i've seen guys able to grow a beard at the age of 13 or 14 but aren't anywhere near done growing. i also know some guys who don't need to shave, or only shave once a month (my two male roommates only shave once a month), so development of facial hair isn't indicative of the termination of the growth process.

also, people will shave according to very subjective standards. some guys like longer stubble so they'll shave less frequently, some want no stubble so they shave more frequently. the fact that you're shaving daily doesn't have anything to do with your growth.

It is certainly not true the other way around - I do not shave on a daily basis and I do not grow any longer ... also: Shaving on a daily basis does not mean that you develop facial hair. You may argue that otherwise shaving wouldn't make any sense, but if we would apply this idea, so that humans do only things which make sense, at least the fashion industry would went bankrupt a long time ago.

May you could be a little more precise in your question or do believe in esoteric connection between applying metal on your skin and your hormonal function of your body?

a lot of 14 year olds have moustaches... just not me. i didn't start shaving until 17, and didn't need to shave more than once a week until around 18.

Nor does your nose. The cartilage in those two parts of your body continues to grow throughout your life (which is why virtually all older individuals have rather large ears and noses).

The reason for this is unclear... much like the reason why men lose the hair on their heads and have it replaced by hair in their noses and ears :P
