I am seriously getting sick with this damn ad. I wish this god damn ad bar would give some variety at least. Not the same god damn thing every f*cking time. It is getting annoying let alone its ugly.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I will tell you that Firefox with Ad-Block Plus has totally eliminated any and All Ads on WP. That is simply my word, and my recommendation. (Yeah, I see that ad on the Wii Browser, it is annoying, but my Wii is still under warranty, and why void that?)

I swear to god the next person that tells me to switch to firefox is going to get slapped. Firefox and Mac do not integrate well. Firefox on the mac sucks. At least for me since it lacks any integration with the OS.

Honestly do ad companies think they will win by running the same thing all the time?

That is just ret*d, if you show more ads than one more people get a chance to sell their product and the consumer is more likely to show interest.

Google USED to be good at generating dynamic ads, but now they purely suck apparently.

Alex treats this site like nothing but a money generator, he barely takes care of it, he STILL has us on PHPBB2 when PHPBB is at 3.2 or something? absurd.

I think you're the only person I've ever heard complaining of Firefox on OSX.
Try Camino then, it has integrated an ad-blocker, and also has (in preferences) a checkmark to block flash.
If you also think it sucks, use Privoxy http://www.privoxy.org/ in any browser, mr. Grumpy =P

Ad-nauseum topic

I am sick of "Help Franki stay in school." It sounds like a scam Franki has posted to raise money for cosmetic surgery. :P

A) When did they stop trying to even use faces in before/after photos?

B) Let's all help Franki get her head blown off in Iraq. It's an army ad.

The "obey" ads are everywhere, I go to other sites and there they are, I even saw one that was touting makeup. They're way gross, and they come up ALL THE TIME so I have to look at fat lard bellies everywhere I go on the net. Maybe this is what happens when an economic collapse meets the internet's endless demand for ads. I had come in here to rant about the "obey" ads, and saw this thread. Right now I'm looking at that Jungle Book themed ad touting the new US Dept of Agriculture food pyramid that's another ad I can't escape. For a while I was followed around by a Network Solutions (US web site hosting service) ad selling domain names. I actually have a site hosted by NS, so I assumed it was just me. Then it was these fat belly ads. Nice to know I'm not headed for the nuthouse. I just scrolled down, and there's another obey ad. Sheesh. Oh, and I fully support sending Franki to Iraq to suffer traumatic brain injury and PTSD, she looks like she's a real jerk.

Ok. I clicked on the fat belly ad. It leads to a front page that claims to be the blog of a woman in Sacramento, California (which is likely why I get it all the time, that's where I live) who lost weight using pills made from "acai berries" and a pill called "Colon Cleanse". That's her belly, BTW. Supposedly. So it's a diet pill ad.

The other two ads that come up all the time are public service ads from the Ad Council, a USA nonprofit meant to help advertisers fulfill their legally mandated public service requirements. If you're in another country, you're likely not getting the Ad Council ads. The Ad Council once had really groundbreaking ads, such as the Crying Indian ad of the early 70s-where an old Indian looks at a garbage filled landscape and sheds a single tear-and the Crashing Mugs of a decade later, where two beer mugs crash together to the sound of a car crash with the tag line "drinking and driving can kill a friendship". Both US TV ads. The Ad Council hasn't done anything like that in ages, and their ads-which once ran in primetime-have been banished to the wee hours. So they've turned to the net. So 66% of the ads are public service ads. Like I said, ad revenues have collapsed.

if we could just get franki to go to Hollywood...;)

A lot of times, they'll take perfectly fit people, 'fatten them up', then let them get back to 'fighting weight' as 'proof' their stuff works...

Honestly, it just looks like she didn't eat for a day and is sucking her stomach in.

Funny I thought something similar. In the second picture her arms are also up in the air, which is slimming as well.
