Flamingos

Who else thinks flamingos are totally awesome? I've always had a soft spot for them, but I've really started getting into them over the last few weeks. But I still wouldn't call it an obsession, so I don't know. But like I was saying before, who else here likes flamingos?

Also, here's a picture I took of some last summer at the Washington DC Zoo. Two of them were in a fight right before this picture was taken:

Heres a fun fact about flamingos, they smell, bad, really bad, really really bad.

I love flamingos.

So does my husky, but in his case it's because he'd like to *eat* them.

Not me so much. They're okay, but not my favorite. Whenever I go to the zoo, I normally snap a few flamingo shots and then move on to other things, such as the lions, monkeys, giraffes, etc.

That is EXACTLY what I was going to say. They are pretty though. At the San Diego Zoo a bunch hatched eggs last year, it was neat.... but still very smelly.

lolz Smelly animals are the best! Like I said before, I like skunks, too! But this is the flamingos topic. Flamingos have always cheered me up. Last summer, I was having a miserable time at the DC zoo (my boyfriend and I were mad at each other, it was over 90F, my feet were killing me from being all cut up and walking uphill so much, and I was really upset someone had coughed all over me since I'm a germaphobe). Anyway, we stopped at the flamingo exhibit and two of them were fighting by biting each other's necks. They definitely cheered me up. The ones at the Indianapolis Zoo *never* fight, so this was fun to see. They quickly stopped though. I've always thought flamingos were pretty cool. They're beautiful!

we have flamingos here. I'm going to Disney , maybe I'll take some pics for you if i see any there.

A fun fact flamingos aren't pink. they only turn pink after eating things like crabs. there food turns there feathers that pretty pink!

lolz When I said flamingo pics, I meant ones that were actually alive.

hello lightning, I'm back from Disney. I didn't go to the park where the flamingos were. But I took a picture of some ducks and an Egret.

In fact I almost got an Egret to eat out of my hand. I moved my hand before the egret could eat the food out of my hand. I was worried it would peck the food out of my hand and it would hurt. but i got really close to it!

I don't have a picture of that but I got a picture of one later.

I can post them when my mom emails the pictures to me, if you want.
