Anyone who can't stand this expression? I hate it. I'm not gay, but still. What's wrong with "that's stupid" or "that's dumb"?

I say it all the time. That and "that's ret*d". And I'm going to keep saying them as I'm not personally insulting anyone.

Honestly, bothered me at first, but the word entered the lexicon meaning "lame" like a decade ago at least. It's been around so long I'm not about to get bothered by it.

I don't like it it spreads hate. I hatted it when i was still in school and people called others a friggen jew as an insult. I would walk up to them and say.
Hey most of them died you know! you shouldn't joke like that!

I used to get so angry and they didn't see why. :hmph:

It's annoying and technically when they say it like that it makes no sense at all.

It's a stupid expression, but I admit to using it myself on occasions. People at my school have said it so much over the years I say it without thinking about it, but not all the time because I normally try and think of something more original.

I always worry that people are using it as a derogatory term for homosexuals.
But perhaps they could mean happy.

I don't like the conotation it carries but I still can't help but use it when I'm mad at someone.

When I say "That's so gay!".....I'm not think of gay people when I use it, I'm thinking of the word stupid or pathetic.

I think it's a silly saying.
It's like when we go to next lesson at school and the door's locked and someone says that's gay, I always say how can a locked door be gay? it isn't even alive!

I've actually heard a gay person use it before.
