Since you have now, at least, admitted to being in contact with the person responsible for these so as to have them modified (such as the alteration of the word "torture" to "bondage") would you mind - if you feel you must communicate in this manner - contact the person responsible for making these and have them deleted? They pose an occupational hazard, of which it is already difficult enough for me to find work after being fired for a "violent act" from Wal-Mart and having to explain, inevitably, that that false accusation on the part of Wal-Fart is nothing more than bureaucratic incompetency. Petty little name calling is one thing that I can and have lived with on Wrong Planet from various members at one time or another, but such things as these impostor profiles are too much. You do not know the person who created the pages, but they are registered at WP. I don't think they've ever made a post though. They spoke to a relative who is a lawyer who specializes in identity theft, and who also has a good knowledge of internet crime.
They were advised that what they were doing, while illegal, was extremely unlikely to result in arrest or successful legal action. They were told that to avoid all possibility of arrest or successful legal action they only need to remove any pictures of you, and change your full name a bit, and that is what they have done.
The person is homosexual, and has been offended by many of your posts. They have suggested to me, that if they see you making a serious long-term effort to stop saying things that appear homophobic, and be a bit nicer about homosexuality, then they might be prepared to suspend the profiles indefinitely.
Please do not respond to this with threats. It will only make the person far less likely to remove the profiles, and may also make a mod lock this thread, making it impossible for you to have any further dialogue with the perpetrator.
