The animals in question are involved in long term relationships so it speaks to more than just the origin of "the world's oldest profession". It suggests alot about the origins of much of modern human behavior: marriage, kinship ties, and the economy in general.
I do not see here the big difference: In both cases sex is traded against material goods. The sole difference is the business model: One is short term based, the other long term based. Because the societies of chimpanzees are quite small a long term based business model is just more successful.
