driving home from work near midnight is fun on any occasion, but tonight my drive was brightly lit from the east...one of the oil refineries about 3 miles from my home was on fire for hours. the light from the flames could be see about 10 miles away on the highway. the news said that the explosions were briefly confused with earthquakes by locals.
and i missed it all....
the fire's still burning, though. i can see it from my porch, reflecting off of the river... it's like a beautiful orange stinky sunset.
