my best childhood friend is getting married, and he has invited me
needless to say, such a proposal instantly sounds spooky, but i thought hey, hes my oldest best friend, so i should go
then he tells me its in the northernmost of norway...............
this means: ill have to organize s**t, ill have to get there, and ill have to stay there
he offered to take me there, which means i roll on THEIR wave, if they decide to stay for a month, i stay for a month :S
they did take me by car one time i needed a ride, and stopped in the middle of the forest for FOUR HOURS to have a cup of coffee w some relative, while my folks were constantly texting me "where the hell are you?"
anyway
SO much hastle
im supposed to live with HIS ENTIRE family, and HER ENTIRE family, TWO ENTIRE FAMILIES for at LEAST a long weekend.
and no escape.
ill be trapped miles and miles and miles from home :S
last he tried to contact me, cus he needs a decision, and i didnt reply. freaked the hell out by the prospect

This is of course typical of autists anywhere.
It is, however, also very egocentric. Their marriage is not about you, but them. I suggest, since he's your oldest best friend and all, that you go. They may never forgive you otherwise. After all, it (hopefully) only happens once per lifetime.
About social ackwardness, which this thread is ultimately about, don't bother so much about what other people think of you or your actions. You can't be friends with everybody anyway, so why care if somebody don't seem to like you? Just relax, be yourself and endure that frikkin' marriage. You might even enjoy yourself.

aaargh thats what im telling myself
and its not so much about me vs everyone there, but me being stuck somewhere desperately needing to get home, and not being able too.
bah, i survived 5 months in the military...

Just tell him you don't want to stay more than a couple of days tops. If he's the kind of person not trying to "cure" you, he'll listen.

maybe thats kind of an important piece of info as well.
so im basically wondering wether or not i should be a gigantic a**hole or not :S

Either tell him you're an aspie, or tell him you have "irrational social fears" and don't want to put anybody in ackward positions because of it.
If any ackwardness happens after that, you'll know you warned him.

sounds reasonable. gah im hating this so much. i dont even know who the chick is
and hes still surprised "what? but we've been together for 6 years!"
im ALLREADY a horrible friend, and hes way too patient, and im worried that it would indeed be a good couple of nails to the cascet, if i just ignore this...

yeah, thing is if it was HERE i would do JUST that, i'd go, have a blast, get drunk, hit on mothers and stuff, and then go home
but im gonna be 10 train-hours away from home :S norway's got a bad habit of being a looong country
