Memories from when you were 2 or younger.
I remember my third birthday party. I also remember when I was about 2, and we were looking at apartments and we looked at one house and I looked down into this closet area and it was lower than the floor and so deep you needed a ladder to get out of it. It had janitorial stuff in it, I think. I thought about getting trapped down there. They also showed me this machine thing, it lit up and was warm and looked like an electric hand dryer but I don't know what it was. I asked what it was and someone said "Our new home." I thought it was my father but he thought my mother said that. There were also chairs there like the ones at my preschool, at a long table. Another time, when I was about 2, I remember wearing my Christening dress, and me and my mother were walking together outside, and we went to 50th or 51st or 55th Ave. and I saw a big old house, and we went to the park and ate. There's this blackness between when we were walking down 50th or 51st or 55th Ave. and I remember this blackness and suddenly we were in the park. Another time, again I was about 2, we were looking at an apartment up on 32nd Ave. and as my mother was pushing my stroller with me in it into the bathroom my knee scraped against something and I cut myself. I remember waking up the next morning and looking at my cut; me and my mother were both back at our apartment that we lived in then, lying on her bed. Another time, when I was a baby, I dreamed of running around in the jungle with the animals. Some of it was cartoonish. I woke up and, upset that the dream was over and I wasn't in the jungle with the animals where I was being stimulated, started to cry. I cried and cried, and my mother came in and held me. Another time I was standing in my crib yelling and yelling for my mother to come and she didn't come. I wanted out of my crib. I wanted to go play with my stuffed animals. I was looking at my stuffed animals which were in a row on the floor against the opposite wall of the one the crib was on. Another time, at night, I cried and cried and finally my mother came and took me out of my crib and took me to her bed with her. I kept crying and she said "If you don't stop crying you're going back to your crib." Another time, I was a baby still, and I'm lying down someplace, in a bedroom, and my mother pulls a chain on a light in the ceiling, turning it off, and says "I'll turn off the light."

I can remember my first birthday. I remember sitting in my high chair with my birthday cake in front of me and playing with the toy elephants that were on it. I remember my first birthday more than I do most of my others.
My second earliest memory is me standing in the doorway to what would become my room flapping my hands. I never would have guessed that would be a sign of autism.
Then my third earliest memory was me standing in the waiting room of the hospital my grandpa was in at the time. I was also flapping my hands there.

So simple, it's complicated
I have memories from less than one year old. Most of my early life are related to objects and impresions
nice feelings and maybe one or two bad.
I my memories are linked with colours, textures, images, and feelings.... |-) still feel extasis when I remmember the first time I got aware of colours (less than 1y/o), or when I remmember how did my little plastic bunny felt in the ears.
I don't think I remember anything from 1986. I have no memory. I have a few memories from 1987 such as being at this house filled with toys which was probably the day care my parents took me too, I remember the new daycare I went too, being at a toy store I think it was Toys R Us and my dad and his friends are looking at a tricycle and I am just standing there staring at them. Then I saw the same tricycle on Christmas Day and I remember getting the Fisher Price Piano. I also remember my diapers, car seat, stroller, high chair, watching my two Disney Sing Along Tapes, my bibs, playing on the ship at the mall here in Portland and always wanting to go ice skating there too, I can remember my baby sitter Kristy and her friends vaguely. I don't remember their faces. I have a memory of her putting on a pair on my mom's earrings. I also remember going in the attic of our house that was in my room. You had to go in my bedroom to get to the attic. I also remember falling down the stairs. I also remember my dad's friend Ron and his wife Kristy and their son Cody and I remember their old house vaguely and me and their son wrestling and them being at our house and him using the bathroom and I don't know why he is on it and his mother asks if I want to use it. I also remember being in the living room holding onto the phone cord and Kristy is yelling "Beth like go." That's what it sounded like to my ears but she was saying "let go." I didn't know what she was yelling about so I kept a hold of the phone cord and when it slipped out of my hand, she stopped yelling the words and then she yelled them again when I grabbed the cord again and then stopped when I dropped the cord again and then yelled the words again when I grabbed it again. So I learned that day "Like go" means drop it. It was few years later when my mother corrected me it was "let go."
One clear memory when I just turned two. I stepped out on the front porch and it had ice.
My feet slid out and I fell on my back and my head bounced on the cement. I was wearing a snowsuit with a hood or I think I might have died.

I have several memories from when I was right around the age of two or less. I had one of those huge metal tops that spins when you push in the handle. I remember being in the bathroom sitting in the floor spinning the top round and round and round. I recall being on the front porch of my house in one of those chair swings that hangs from the ceiling of the porch. I was looking at the neighbors porch. They had a similar porch with a similar swing. Most of the houses on the street had similar porches and similar swings. It was a scene similar to looking into a mirror while simultaneously standing in front of another mirror. An endless line of porches with swings. I also recall falling off of the same front porch and going to the hospital to have a head x-ray. They said they were going to take my picture and it FREAKED ME OUT!! It was YEARS before I could have my picture taken again.

My earliest memory is from the age of about 1 years old. I was watching TV & heard a door slam. I looked behind me & saw my mother run into the kitchen & my dad throw a beer bottle at her. She ducked & it missed her.
Another memory I have is my mum taking me for a run. I was in my pram & it was at dawn. I remember seeing the sunrise & travelling past a very tall white fence. I'm guessing I was about 2 years old as that's the last time I sat in a pram.

I remember being born - my face and head being compressed by a wet squishy surface. The feeling that I wanted to get free. I felt panicked by this.
I remember laying in my crib. I remember the bear decal that was at the headboard of the crib.
I remember mama changing my diapers, and not liking the baby powder smell. (Talcum powder still is something I don't like to breathe.) I remember once when I "let fly" as she was changing my diaper and it sprayed into my mouth. Yuck!
I remember mama holding me as dad drove the car. (This would have been 1959 - way before seat belts or baby seats in cars.)
I remember mama holding me in a crowd of people and everyone was talking (wedding reception or something maybe?) and I was very very tired, but I couldn't sleep because of all the talking, and I just wanted everyone to be quiet so that I could sleep, and I was getting cranky.
I remember that liked when mama kissed me, but I didn't like it when dad kissed me because he shaved and his skin hurt me.
I remember mama putting me in the "baby tenda" to feed me. It was similar to a high chair, but it was almost the size of a card table with hole for a seat in the middle, so that there was table surface all the way around. It was the same height as the dining room table so that I could be right up to the table (almost).
I remember learning to push myself upwards using my legs as I learned to stand.
These are the earliest memories that I recall, more or less in order. I suspect there are more in there, and that it might have to do with how wide awake I was at the time. Babies spend so much time sleeping (even while eating) that memories don't form as well.
Yes, I realize that I am unusual for having memories retained from such an early age. I'm not sure if that is a spectrum issue or something else.
I remember being 1 or two at my old house and reaching up to get a twglet and it tasted horrible. I remeber the ceiling and I rememebr going to nursery age 2 with lots of nuns. I also remember my mum getting stuck in the toilet at a railways station, and my brother being born aged 2.
i remember laying on my back in a little trolley, trying to look up front. i remember a straining feeling in my neck, as i try to lift my head.
i also remember being fascinated w the color and texture of my toys, especially a big red plastic apple

There's a part of the brain involved in long term memory that isn't developed in babies. My developmental psychology teacher said that even if people think they remember being babies, they don't.
I have some memories from when I was around two... maybe they're real. I remember sitting in a high chair watching my mom curl her eyelashes and wondering what the hell the metal thing over her eye was. I was eating ravioli. I remember riding in the red two-seat Mazda with my mom at night, after she had worked out at the Y. The moon was full and I thought about how it resembled a baby's head. "These Dreams" by Heart was playing on the radio. I remember my rainbow-colored diaper bag my mom carried everywhere, and my car seat with the fun zippered toys to play with on it. I remember going to "Helen's house," which was this house where an old lady wathced kids. I remember the kids being mean to me and not letting me play with legos or toy cars. I remember crying as Helen changed my diaper, becasue I didn't like strange people changing my diaper. (My parents say they only took me to Helen's twice, when I was two. They say they used to threaten to take me there when I was being bad because I had hated it so much, but really they wouldn't have taken me back there). I remember being in my crib in my room and staring at a giant teddy bear I had, wishing my mom would come in and get me. I remember sitting in the YWCA nursery, staring at a baby's toes and being amazed at how tiny they were. (This was the nursery down in the basement of the YWCA, which got moved upstairs when I was two). I remember my parents taking me to Montgomery Ward and getting me my first big girl's bed, a white canopy twin. They asked me if I wanted pink or white, and I didn't understand what they meant but I think I answered "white." I remember saying in the car that I really wanted the pink one, and my mom saying "oh great." I remember getting a new car seat, that didn't have any toys on it because it was designed for older children. I remember missing the toys on the car seat. Every time I mention the car seat to my mom, she says "I can't believe you remember that." I remember my mom had a special baby seat on the back of her bicycle, and I'd ride in it while she pedaled. The bicycle was yellow.
That is probably true in neuro-typicals. But, for those on the spectrum there might be development at a rate which is not typical.
