Hi,

I want to ask people who are ebay users about a feedback situation. I've only used it once and got asked to change my feedback, my feedback was 'Item was as advertised but it took nine days to arrive. Thank you.'

It was accurate and truthfull. His feedback was 'ok buyer'. I compared it with other feedback he left to others and it was poor by comparison. I paid within half an hour of ordering it via paypal, he said in other peoples feedback, 'great buyer, paid promptly etc.'. He has also said that if I change mine he will change his to a truer feedback. I sent a message to ebay to query this and they haven't got back to me yet. I feel like I'm being bullied here.

Can anyone clarify my situation for me please?

Thanks for the time taken to read this.

IMO as long as it's positive feedback it's not that important what exactly you or he write. You can use the star system to penalize him if he took to long to send your item. If you need more help, go on the discussion boards on ebay - they always offer good advice.

I don't care what someone says in their feedback just as long as it's true. I have never had any negatives or neutrals because I only buy. Some sellers do leave unfair feedback for revenge because they get the feedback they deserved and then for revenge they leave back dishonest feedback by making it negative and making something up about the buyer but ebay but a stop to it by changing their policy. Now sellers can't leave their buyers negative feedback which is also bad because there are also unfair buyers. Some buyers try to rip the seller off by saying the item came damaged and they want a refund but they won't return the item for the refund, or they damage the item and say it was damaged in shipping and try and get their refund, it just gives the buyers power so they can leave the sellers unfair feedback because they know the sellers can't leave them the feedback they deserve which is the negative feedback. But I know the loophole is marking it as positive and then leaving the negative feedback in your comment.

Thanks for your responses, I'm really glad for your posts. I got a bit panicy over this. My bf said to do nothing, to leave the feedback as is 'as it is truthful'. Is there any repercussions for not doing anything about it? I'd ask ebay but they didn't respond to my message as of yet (if they ever will). I gave him positive feedback (star-wise) and he did likewise.

Thanks again for the info and responses. :D

Don't worry about it - of course there are no "repercussions" - after all you both got positive feedback so everything should be fine.

When leaving feedback, just after the place you write your bit, you have a detailed seller rating, like that:

How accurate was the item description?
Very inaccurate Inaccurate Neither inaccurate nor accurate Accurate Very accurate

Why weren't you satisfied with the item description?
Item was not received
Quality did not match item description
Item was damaged
Item was a counterfeit, replica, or an unauthorised copy
Wrong item
Other

How satisfied were you with the seller's communication?
Very unsatisfied Unsatisfied Neither unsatisfied nor satisfied Satisfied Very satisfied

How quickly did the seller dispatch the item?
Very slowly Slowly Neither slowly nor quickly Quickly Very quickly

How reasonable were the P&P charges?
Very unreasonable Unreasonable Neither unreasonable nor reasonable Reasonable Very reasonable

In the future, you can use that rating if you think he took to long to post your package. But don't get stressed over this, it's basically a formality and some people just don't leave feedback at all.
