Before I was married, I hated New Year's Eve. I never had a date. People in my neighborhood would have parties and get drunk and VERY obnoxious. Not just making out in front of everyone
obnoxious but sex right out in the street obnoxious!
Midnight was the worst! People screaming "Happy New Year!". Once I was outside and a guy who was at a party at my neighbor's house was standing on a high step and thrust his genitals at me. I was really offended. Drunkin' pigdog! His girlfriend got REALLY upset with him too. I let her handle it and got away quick...and that jackass of a song (sorry if any of you like it but I hated it back then only) Aud Lang Syne (spelling?). What a horrible experience...the end of one year and right into another...good grief! Today I just make a special dinner for the family, go to bed early, set the alarm for midnight, get up and hug and kiss everybody and then go right back to bed. Phew! Then get up and watch parades on television.

I don't like New Year either. I made sure I wasn't in Edinburgh for it this year, because all the racket would have been hellish.

I think Robert Burns is overrated.

Good Friday, it's always been an awfully dull day.
