I did a format and recover and when I play songs, the sound comes through the speakers on my monitor, not through the surround speakers I have set up.

Can anyone help?

You might put the cords incorrect...or plug out the sound cord to the monitior...and you have to check the "audio manager"

there, that's better. I had to disable the speakers on the monitor so the 5.1 could take over as the dominant.
