Heh, we didn’t miss x, I skipped it because the only word I know starting with x is xylofon. I too find it interesting that shellpad has been used. I take it that means that the skil part is meant to be shell, and not scales or shield. Shell toad. I did look shellpad up and it was used for tortoises apparently. Makes me wonder about the origins of the words tortoise and turtle too.
