I have a German Irish accent my question is do you find them attractive or not? If you do what do you like about certin accents?

It depends really. I do like some accents sometimes. I'm from the Deep South, so I don't hear our accents unless they are really thick and syrupy or really country. My husband is from up North and when I met him he had only recently moved down here. I thought he had the funniest accent. He finally lost it though and talks like the rest of us now.

I like Peruvian accents for some reason. I'm not really sure why, it just sounds so different from the accents I'm used to (in Spanish), in a good way. I think the language of the natives has mixed with it in an interesting way and generally it just sounds good to me.

On the opposite side, Argentinean and Spanish accents hurt my ears, figuratively speaking.

yeah but i cant say what it is about that accent that i like. i also like arabic(not english educated and preferably lebanese or palestinian) and russian or eastern european languages in general. i like how deep and harsh and gutteral they can be. makes me shiver. also japanese because it reminds me of windchimes and caligraphy.

Most accents, yes. But I wouldn't like if I have to struggle to understand them.

Why? IMO a lot of the attraction for people is the novelty. IMO if you were around the accent everyday for a few weeks, most of the novelty wears off.

Also IMO it's not only the accent but knowing the person comes from another culture - if they did not grow up in the US or have not been here a long time. They can teach you about new things, and be interested in American things.

Yeah, I like Scottish (not Irish, not English, not Welsh--Scottish), Aussie/Kiwi, French, French African, Dutch/Belgian, Arabic/North African, Persian, Turkish, Indonesian/Malay, Russian/Slavic & German/Austrian accents.

The accent itself is not something that def'ly attracts me to a guy, but I do find a guy's voice and how he talks an important factor in initial attraction. So if he has pleasing accent, as oppose to one that irks me, it helps.

For some reason I find a Hindi accent attractive even though I'm not from India. It's probably why I like watching Bollywood movies
I also, like my native Oklahoma accent and some Spanish ones.

I have a love of Enlgish accents those that are from europe though not american and a spainard accent irish or scottish accent but mostly I love the german accent it is so seay.

I live in a very small country named Belgium, it's divided in eh.. a number of regions with their own accent and I can't stand any of them. And the weird thing is, I dated 2 girls who did not speak typical.. Like one came from a coal mine city where there are plenty of Mediterranean people since the 50's and she was Greek, but spoke Dutch with a weird 'coal mine city accent'. And the next one was Russian. I love Italian and Russian, and even more Italians or so that speak English. Drool.
I get shivers when I hear young people speak certain accents around the big city

Though I am not french at all I have a french accent.

I love Irish, British, Spanish and Australian accents.
