Anyone Here Want Kids or Trying to Conceive?
Good to hear. Try as good as possible to get an health insurance for you, if you can. If your birth will be more complcated, and you need to be taken to hospital, the bills can be horrible.
Hope everything goes well for you this time. I sense you would be a good parent based on what you have written about yourself regarding kids. If I understand correctly, you have been pregnant before and lost that baby.

League-girl: Thanks
My past loss(es?) are complicated to say the least. I do believe that we've conceived twice before- January 2012, and July 2013. In the first, my period was 1.5 weeks late, and I had contractions along with generally having felt like death that 1.5 weeks, and one faint positive test. The ER doctors did not say anything to me when I complained of the contractions- they were very different from cramps, even the worst of cramps- and they said it was just a late period. I do not believe that at all.
The most latest, I have a cousin and several others that swear they saw a positive test, but my greatest confidence lies in the temps I took, and the symptoms. In this case, blood tests never really showed, and I suspect my body re-absorbed a non-viable pregnancy. In either case, they were early losses, and I never had doctor confirmation, or an ultrasound, so it's pretty awesome to have a picture of little one and proof that he/she is there.
Thanks also for the vote of confidence. I want to be a mommy so bad, but I'm scared that my functioning will be a problem. WE'll see though. Hopefully all goes well. I can't wait to meet this little one!
Schneekugel: Hopefully soon you'll get your ultrasound too! I can't wait to see it
. Fingers crossed for you hun! They say babies after miscarriages are much more likely to make it to birth! Hoping it's true for you. I am now on Medicaid... and I think I should qualify reguardless of the new jobs. We'll have to check that more when we know what our income per month will be. It does disqualify me from WIC and Food Stamps I'm pretty sure, but hopefully we'll be able to make it.
As for birth, now that I know I am only having one, I already have an appointment on the 11th with NewBirth Birthing Center. OMG. I LOVE this place! The midwives I met so far are just amazing, the birthing rooms are just gorgeous, and it's low-stress, out-patient, and baby is handed straight to mom and stays there for as long as mom/baby want. I'm seriously psyched, because I had a feeling they wouldn't do a twins-birth, since they don't do breech or anything like that, but for a singleton I should be good.

I am waiting for the ultrasound too. Right now I feel somehow disturbed. During my first pregnancy I was so happy and relaxed and had the "Oh all will go well, care for treating you and your baby good, and all will be ok." oppinion. and my thoughts focused much on me being pregnant and I was very happy about that. While this time it doesnt feel that real, so I dont get into that mood, but run most of the day 0815 without even thinking of it. So I know by logic that I am pregnant, but I neither feel physically nor emotional that way and avoid thinking of it. So I am happy in general about it, but unlike the first time I dont feel that happyness so directly towards the pregnancy. I think its that without purpose I may avoid getting into that mood again to prevent disappointment, if it fails again.
I hope, that the ultrasound will change that again. So there wont be any arms or legs yet, but at least it should then already have an own independetn heartbeat and be recognizable. I know by logic, that I shouldnt worry myself, as long as my worries dont have an effect, but right now its pretty hard, specially because last time I lost it as well one week for the ultrasound, when I was already excited about seeing it the first time.
Sorry if I bring bad moods into that thread. Didnt wont to ignore your responses, but actually I dont get myself into that "Wuhuu, I have a baby, I have a baby!" mood, which I wished to have myself. So its not about having a baby in general, it simply seems to me, that I right now emotionally plug my fingers in the ear and close my eyes right now, to prevent me thinking bad stuff and concerning myself. I think after the critical first 4 weeks are gone and the ultrasound, when actually being able to see something and the doctor will tell me to everything being all right, it will be better.
Maybe I should simply visit Toys R Us, when I see such tiny babysocks I normally always get into that positive "Aaaaaawww" - babymood.
Schneekugel: That's all totally normal! Especially after a miscarriage! I am sure after the ultrasound you will feel much better. I know before my ultrasound I was trying not to think about it too much because I just didn't trust it. It's all good! Just take care of yourself and be sure to get your prenatals!
As for me- I just had my last appointment with the OB clinic, mainly to get my lab results which were all normal, and my blood type is O+. I thought that was just awesome. So my next appointment is with the birthing center that I'm going to use for the rest of prenatal care, and I cannot wait! I'm absolutely psyched that I can actually use a birth center and don't have to have a hospital birth! Seriously, amazing and I didn't think it possible

I also had a miscarriage and it took me a while to get excited in my second one for having a baby. Now I am at 12 weeks and I don't feel any happiness or excitement, I feel normal. I have finally started noticing at 11 weeks my belly was bigger when my mom said something about it when she saw me with no clothes on. I have an appointment today for my first prenatal care and they check for a heart beat.

League_Girl- How did it go? All well? Hoping it helps ease your mind, but showing is definitely a good sign!

Traffic was bad, it took me a half hour to get there almost. Then I was a few minutes late because the place was packed and I still made it to my appointment and I had to wait 15 minutes before my name was called and by then the waiting room was empty. Then I had to do a long visit answering questions with a student nurse, then wait again for the doctor and they asked me more questions and then it took them a while to find the heart beat. The whole visit took over two hours and it then it took me another half hour to get home due to bad traffic. Then right when I got home, my husband and I got ready to take our son trick or treating. We decided to do it around our home and our son doesn't need much candy.

League- Bleh! traffic does NOT sound fun. But it's great that you were able to hear the heartbeat! I'm stuck at home tonight while hubby is working. That's ok though. I have a lot of reading to do for school.

I love kids and its always been my dream to be a stay at home mommy. Problem is finding a man to have a baby with. Been looking into artificial insemination, pricey but I think I can save up enough to order sperm and do it at home if this online dating doesn't pan out in the next few years. Wouldn't be able to have my dream that way but at least I'd be a mommy.
Any update Schneekugel?

According to pregnancy tests still pregnant, date with the doctor is on Tuesday. Still seems weird to me, that unlike the first pregnancy I feel completely normal. No tiredness all day, no hunger about weird stuff, ... Only weight is a pretty weird. Lost before almost 8-10 pounds due to teeth infection, gained again 5-6 pounds (which is normal for me, if I loose pretty much weight unplanned, and then it normal again, so I didnt whonder about that.) but 1 week later, due I eat totally normal I again lost 3-4 pounds from that 5-6 I gained. And I am not sure, but I think morning sickness might start, so I dont feel right now bad or have the wish to puke, but I mentioned to have become more sensible to smells, so I get it if the cats goes three rooms on on the cat toilette and such stuff.
But I am calmer now, so I think maybe that I dont feel anything at all, might be a sign for everything being ok. While the last time there was always such a physical nagging feeling around the uterus area, that maybe already was a sign for something going wrong. Lets see if I get a picture of the little cellball at Tuesday. ^^
Time would be nice. A friend of mine has as well become pregnant (three months ahead) so I had at least someone to share all that stuff, and dont need to bother singles with baby-chatter. ^^ And the stepbrother of my husband and his wife, finally decided, that they dont wont anymore kids, so there is a good chance that we can buy them their babystuff for a really small price. ![]()
Schneekugel: Ah! So excited for you! You really should be ok, but I will be stalking today (when I'm awake. As, at 8 weeks I AM more often tired than not) for a new update! Fingers crossed for good results!
Hubby and I heard Little One's heartbeat on the doppler yesterday! I want to hear it again! haha! But so far everything looks good, and it's still early. Midwife appointment on the 19th!

Wuhu, everythings fine, and is already about 6-7 mm. Doctor could as well already recognize an "hearbeat"-movement. Have a nice little picture of it, but there is not much more to recognize then a ball with some stuff in it. ^^
Thursday in the morning I will be at the gyn again for a blood test, and as well the official stuff for work and so on.
Gonna search as well for a good literature/book in german. If everything goes well, we will tell the family before Christmas. I already see my partners grandmother chasing me with tons of food, she is always refering that I was too skinny, even when I am a german size 38, which is totally normal and has bugged us (in opposite to his parents...according to them we should wait until we can afford a golden heated pool in the cellar ^^) for her grandchildren "before she dies". (Yop, exactly that words. ^^ Nono, she is not manipulative at all. ^^)
Still hoping everything goes well (around here you say you should wait for 12 th pregnancy week to make it public), but right now I am really happy.
Searched already for baby bazars around here. When getting a belly, I already see the more traditional workers of our construction sites, like polands and most of our muslim workers, getting heartattacks if I dare trying to go up a ladder. XD (Not meant in a bad way, but they are simply caring so much, so they are always scared of me falling down and then friendly insist on following me, holding my ladders or carrying my bag up the ladders and knows hell what. ^^ With an additional babybelly, I´ll think they will start carrying me around all the time, so I cant step on anything. XD)
Schneekugel: YAY! I'm so happy for you! I already wrote this out, but I found out today that it didn't submit propperly. Boo!
When will you get the blood results back? Do you know how far along you are?
I was not at all patient about announcing. I got the positive test and told my family and close friends, and then announced on Facebook at 6w4d after we saw the heartbeat. I can hear the heartbeat on doppler now, so I'm hoping I'm all good to go! Starting to get a bit bloated. 9 weeks today ![]()

The doctor does the laboratory stuff always on the weekend, but as long as everything is ok, I will have to wait until next Friday for informations, when I will visit him again for the next official document stuff. Its annoying but necessary to receive certain work-protection conditions in my country, and for medical stuff. I already had to answer and sign stuff like if I want additional prenatal diagnostics or invasive tests automatically done (seems for many woman around here already standard to get themselves a needle through their belly
) and knows hell what. I thought I had a bit more time until I had to do such decisions.
Age is now 7th week from last period. Do you mean with feeling bloated, that your belly already increased a bit, or is it more general, like more water in cells and that? Do you have any typical morning sickness? I only mentioned to be a bit more sensitive to smells, but until yet, everythings fine and no sickness.
Well for a few days it was a bloated feeling- like I was all congested inside. Now it's more normal-feeling, but I'm getting what I cal a pre-bump. Haha. It's not a baby bump, not really, but it is making it difficult to wear my jeans. My weekly pics last week were still in my normal jeans, but they were unbuttoned.
I am getting quite a bit of nausea. Sometimes it's too much, other times it's a faint hum. Still not throwing up much... hoping that means I'm looking at a girl. Haha. Who knows though.
I made a video collage of me and hubby set to a recording of baby's heartbeat today, cause others were wanting me to record baby's heartbeat, and I have to search high and low for baby still (moves around a lot) so not really something I could do "live" on camera at this point. Haha. Link is here if you are interested https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=27 ... tif_t=like.
