Never liked the stuff myself! It probably started with watching my mom use tons of the stuff. Yuckkk! My little sister loved it tho.
In High school a few well meaning friends tried it on me & I found out I was allergic to it, even the hypoallergenic stuff, so that's been my excuse.
My husband likes natural girls anyway (thats reason # 27 why I fell for him).
Every once in a while I get the urge to paint my nails, but thats about it.
My daughter is getting an interest, but so far it's just nail polish & lip gloss.

Who here wears makeup at all? (Counts as heavy makeup, light makeup, or even lip gloss) Why do you do it?

I wear it sometimes when I'm dressing up - or if I have an interview. Pretty much, if I wear a bra or stockings, I wear makeup. Normally, I don't. (I'm small-busted so I don't need a bra except for "cover-up")

I used to wear it more when I was working: it was like a costume. I felt like it was my mask to insulate me from the people I had to deal with. Reminded me of my role.

Nowadays, I found a good brand that I don't break out from (I'm 43) and I wear it only on special occasions when I'm dressing up anyways.

i never wear make up. my mum wen i was in my teens would allways try and persuade me tp wear someeven if not alot- showing me her huge bag full of the stuff.plus she uses all sorts of creams and moiserisers and body creams when she goes on vacation one suitcase is filled entiry with these prducts!

i judt dont feel theres any neeed for it, and its uncomfortable to wear it. only time is lip balm that is not glossy. i find glossy lips awful on any one.
it not that i cant be bothered to wear it i just dont like te feel of it, and i have no requirement for it as im not ugly lol

I use makeup base and powder whenever I go anywhere - otherwise I'm fine to not use it at home. I think it is just something that was ingrained when I was younger - like it is "rude" or something to go outside with a bare face (lol). So if I don't wear makeup (unless I'm at the store very early) I think people are going to be looking at me funny. However I think if I had an even complexion I would feel fine about it. It is a bother to put on.

I wear coverup everyday because I NEED to cover up my acne, but if it wasn't for that, I would hardly ever wear makeup-too much trouble, smearing, etc.

I very occasionally wear a little eyeshadow if I can be bothered (just some roll-on sparkly stuff) but generally it's just too much hassle to wear make-up. I don't know if Vaseline on one's lips counts, which I do wear - but only because I like the feeling of my lips being moist, and it's far cheaper than lip gloss (which then also requires a mirror so it doesn't go everywhere ... )

Make-up's too expensive, makes me paranoid I'm going to smudge it, I can't put it on very well anyway, and it's too much hassle. Nothing's going to be gained by wearing it anyway because I'm usually either at school or at home, and everyone there knows what I look like without make-up anyway!

I finally gave up using makeup, except for a little lipstick, decades ago. I've had a lot of compliments on how mice my skin looked up until very recently, when the effects of aging started to show. I also don't do much of anything with my hair: cut, wash, and dry. I've never looked better, but I've seen an awful lot of women my age who look like worn-out Barbie dolls or whose face and hair - expecially hair - look totally ruined by all they've done to it.

I remember when I was in my teens everyone tried to look like a blond barbie doll, and everyone had to have a dark tan. I wonder how many of them wound up with anorexia, bulimia, and malignant skin growths.

The blonde barbie doll look is largely out of style now, isn't it? I don't even know any women who wear make up anymore. Even the ones who spend lots of money on their hair, nails and clothes tend to go with the natural look with barely a hint of makeup. Isn't this lack of makeup a current trend? When I was a teen it was okay to wear skads of makeup but it just isn't in style anymore, at least not in the places I have lived and travelled.

I really like wearing makeup. I don't wear much, just mascara and this shimmery white eyeshadow really, but I like the way it makes my face look without it really being overwhelming. Also I have crappy skin so concealer is almost necessary.

And yes, the neutral look is in now. Men are admitting that they don't like makeup on women so I guess we're responding to that. Nothing wrong w/ it!

Lipstick is the only makeup I actually liked, and I haven't worn it for at least six years now.

Facial powders always felt heavy and pore-clogging.

Eye shadow always looked ludicrous on me, regardless of which colour scheme I picked. Occasionally I played around with mascara, and I used to alter my eyebrow line. *pluck* *Ow!*

When I get a complexion that isn't akin to cheese pizza, I will consider wearing some makeup. When I wore it in drama class, it did indeed make me feel made up if not pretty.

There have been times when I didn't wear makeup, but my aunt got me into mineral foundation and I love the stuff. Usually I wear the foundation with blush and lipstick. My new makeup actually has an SPF of 15 and it doesn't clog my pores the way most foundations do, it's so light I often forget I'm wearing makeup and have fallen asleep with it on. I get the occasional pimple before my period, and the foundation does a great job covering it up without causing more breakouts. For me, it looks natural, almost as if I'm not wearing any makeup which is what I prefer.
