I'm generally not fond of jewelry because a lot of it is big and overwhelming, and I'm small so it just looks ridiculous.
However, I have a Tinkerbell watch that has wings for the hands kinda like you will see Mickey Mouse watches with Mickey's arms moving as the hands. My guest bathroom houses my seashell collection as well as my husband's rubber duck collection, so I do have a few pictures of Ariel, the little mermaid hanging up in there.
My husband and I are in our twenties and we still watch Disney movies together, as well as a few other kids' shows. Currently, our favorites are Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep because they're not stupid. I still watch Sailor Moon, although now I watch the subtitled stuff instead of the dubbed.
I still borrow young adult books from my youngest sister, mostly because that way I have someone I can discuss literature with, but also because there are some really good ones out there, if you steer clear of Twilight.

I watch kids shows sometimes when I need to escape from my responsibilities and feel like a kid. My dads always scolding me asking me to outgrow the childish stuff. I'm better now than what I used to be 2 years ago, but I guess there's some part of me that will remain childish.

I use to think that I might be too old for silly things. Then I think of the artists or puppeteers that do muppets and Disney stuff. They're are certainly not 9 yr olds. If an adult is creating this stuff, what's wrong with another adult appreciating it.

I'm almost 20 and I still love Disney!! Granted Disney is a "who doesn't love it" thing, but....

I was never big into jewelry (in fact, all I wear is my high school class ring and a dog tag that my friends and I all had made), but I do like jewelry with flowers, peace signs or stuff like that. I'm a little more into the dark side of fairies, and have an idea for a book about faeries (the fay).

I don't think there's anything abnormal about liking that stuff. Then again I like Betty Boop, Disney and fairies (was thinking about a fairy tattoo ) so maybe I'm biased in my view. :D

Do whatever makes you happy - cuz others seldom will. I'm in my forties and three years ago went mad for pink things. Pj's, hair clips/bands/ slippers.. you name it. My obsession's faded now but still love cute girly things now.

Because I have a feeling I would still want to like all these stuff in the years to come, because even by normal standards, you should have moved to dressing in mature clothes and wearing elegant jewellery, (which i also like, btw, but i just find myself more drawn to the girly, quirky stuff more).

is it normal or abnormal for an Aspie?

My missus is 28 and freakishly normal. She loves fairies, crafting, stamping and swears that the colouring in books are for her niece but even I can tell she is lying.

As a teenage girl with AS you should be depressed, unhappy and rocking back and forth in your bedroom wondering why everybody hates you when you can spare the time away from building a miniature fusion reactor under your bed out of bits of skin you have picked off yourself.

Congratulations on being so well adjusted, keep it up! :D

No idea, I'm not great with out of place faces, especially with the lighting the wrong way up. :)

Are you In Europe, US other?

PS oops I found this thread from the 'show recent posts option' and only just realised it was in the women's board, sorry about that. Is it generally bad form for men to post on girly threads or are we allowed to as long we tuck it in?

I'm 40 years old and love those things. It's not as obvious as it used to be when I was younger, but there are tons of blogs out there by older women in their twenties, thirties and beyond that are full of crafts and the kinds of things you love. Here's an example for you:

Please visit the typepad blog "A Beautiful Mess" . . . since I'm new to the forums I can't post any links yet, so you'll have to search for it via Google.

She has built quite a huge following and runs her own business that was grown from her love for girly things. So let her stand as a great example for you of how the things you love and cherish are shared by gobs of women much older than you and who have even turned their hobbies into fabulous careers.

Carla :D

I'm 20, I love all things Alice in Wonderland (have a fairly good sized collection of Alice stuff in my room), Hello Kitty and Spongebob. I find coloring in coloring books to be a relaxing activity, and I love cute and cuddly things like teddy bears and cats.

Although I'm an aspie guy, I'm also an adult who still enjoys the "kiddie" stuff - things like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, playing on the swings and jungle gyms at the local playground, jumping on trampolines, etc. Liking things as a grown-up that you liked when you were a kid is not weird. Anybody who tells you otherwise needs to lighten up and add an activity called "play" to their daily routine.

I am a very typical classic autistic female--and there is no doubt about it, I AM female! I am into some unisex things (most of my main interests can be either male or female, IMO), but I also like girly things as well. I love Disney too, btw! And other things. I have been really into Disney since we went to Florida earlier this year.
