If you did that to me, I'd kill you! You think a girl w/ sensory issues would appreciate you changing up a brand that she's probably found to be the ONLY one she'll tolerate?

Anyway, YES, I have absolutely NO PROBLEM asking my dh to buy that sort of thing for me. I think the first time I did was after our first baby was born. Having kids makes you get over all sorts of things. He never had a prob w/ it, but since I used to be embarassed buying condoms, I assumed he would be. I have no problem buying condoms, lube, hemmorhoid cream, whatever anymore, either. LOL!

No...

Mostly because to guys it's all just...feminine stuff, and for me I am *very* picky about what I use and I would want to get it myself so that I could get the right stuff. It would really bother me if I got the wrong ones...even if the brand was right...if they weren't the correct size or whatnot...I'd need to go out and get my own.

Meh, it's all groceries to me. I get 'em for the wife n daughter when I do the shopping. It's no different, to me, than my wife getting me shaving cream or razors or pitsticks.
That said, I've gotten a few odd looks from cashiers on occasion.

If I did have a man, and I did state the brand, type and the absorbency, on a piece of paper, than yes I would. That way, I know he wouldn't make a mistake. I'd also buy his condoms for him, if I were to pass the Drugstore on my way home, if he needed some, and he made specifications on a piece of paper, because relationships are about helping one another out, in every way possible.

ITA! And I do write down the color of the package, as well as EXACTLY what it say on it. LOL

Fourth option for the poll: I don't trust him to buy the right stuff.
Like hellsnrg said,

That would completely piss me off. I, like the other ladies here have mentioned, am very particular about my brand/size/type. If the lad came back with something I wasn't expecting, and thats ALL THERE WAS IN THE HOUSE I would be very upset. 'He thought he got something better' is all well and good, but HE doesn't have to use them. I would not trust anyone to buy my tampons/etc for me. It is not a case of 'not wanting to embarrass him' at all, it is a case of him being able to purchase the right product. 9 times out of 10, they will bring home exactly the wrong thing.
There is an ad on TV here at the moment that shows the boyfriend going to a supermarket to purchase tampons for his girlfriend. With most items in a supermarket, the 'maxi' or 'super' version is usually the superior product, so he goes for the maxi box. He asks the clerk if they have them any bigger, clerk says no so he shrugs his shoulders and buys the biggest tampons he can find. It makes sense to a man to do that, but his girlfriend wouldn't be very impressed at all.

I didn't think of that as an option. But it's true. You can write him a note. Draw it. Spell it out for him. And he will still come back with the wrong thing.

Yes, I would ask him to go and buy my feminine products if for some reason I was unable to go, and if he brought the wrong brand/absorbancy, it would be better than nothing. I really appreciate my boyfriend in the sense that this sort of thing does not faze him.

My ex puzzled me. He would buy sanitary products for me and tampons if I was unable to go to the shops, but he always asked me to go and buy his haemorrhoid cream or the lotion when the kids caught headlice from his exes kids. He would buy condoms, but not worming tablets when the children picked up threadworms from school. He was very selective regarding what he was embarassed to buy. Products are there to be purchased, and whoever is selling the products have very likely had to purchase themselves in the past a product that has made them feel embarassed.

My husband use to work at a department store that also sold female products, he was always so emabarrassed when I'd ask him to buy me stuff. He'd come home with all sorts of stuff including my female hygiene products. So funny, a few times he'd just come home with just what I asked him but those were the times he'd ask a female co-worker to get them for him. And yet sometimes, with a baby in tow I'd have to buy the condems..........yeah...alittle late wouldn't you think?

My husband is good at it. I can tell him what to get and he will get it. Big boxes even, like at Sams club. I used to be a cashier. And no, we don't care.

I would purchase feminine products for my significant other if she needed me to. I would really act like a pervert when I did it though. (if you're going to feel like a pervert you may as well act like one)

Ha ha ha! That's gotta be the funniest response in this thread. Why would buying feminine care items make you feel like a pervert?

I just think people would get the impression I would be purchasing them for myself. So along with all that I would buy some condoms, a tub of vasoline, a sponge, some latex gloves, and a tub of whipped cream.
