Sorry this took so long, I was in between school and enjoying my favorite holiday: Halloween 
True; as an Aspie, I am an extremely late bloomer...it's just crazy how it hit me out of nowhere almost. But when I think on it, it was a gradual kind of thing that happened. Like I'd mentioned, it actually started about 5 or 6 years ago, and while I investigated it, it soon fell out of my mind. Only to be re-brought to my attention recently more than ever, lol.
And yes, it is rather interesting how urges that we once denied or perhaps simply weren't aware of manage to pop-up in adulthood. It's funny you use the words 'child-like' because that was exactly how one of my professors often described my artwork at the University I just graduated from! I don't intentionally make my work like that, but apparently it comes out each time because she always saw it, especially in a sculpture piece. She always praised it though; she was very charming to have class with, and was very understanding about the Aspie side of me.
