I do Kung Fu - and I love it.
Currently on my second belt and will be competing over in Germany at the Gay Games in August.

Took karate for a couple of years as a teenibopper; started aikido in my mid-20's and got a black belt. Still training off and on, would like to also take some jujitsu-like art for ground work. Haven't found any jujitsu dojos that weren't about being 'badass' yet, but I live in a very rural area and the dojo selection is limited.

Been taking Tae Kwon Do when I have the money off and on for a few years. I like the repetition, I find it soothing. I will probably drop it all together if I get to a point where I have to spar. It goes against the core of my being to hit someone. I'd just stand there and block, which I think is probably against the rules of sparring.

I recently enrolled in a women's self-defense class.

Ask to do only light contact sparring. Explain that you have a problem with hitting someone proper. I'm sure your trainer would be understanding about it. :)

I did kick boxing for a short while in 2007, I got bored after my white belt though and just gave up. I spent most of the time practicing the same old punch for an hour while watching the clock as time goes really slowly, yaaaaaawn.
Some of it was fun though like when they all taught us different kicks and that or when we had the thick plastic "knives" to practice self defense moves with. I sucked at the spin/kicks though, it's impossible trying to aim for them flat gloves that the other person was wearing.

I did kickboxing too. It was good for a while then they went all health and safety on us...

In primary kids kept beating me up, so I took some judo classes to fight back. Was very effective.
I did judo for about 2 years, but stopped at the green belt, which was the fourth one I think.

Yep.

I forgot most of the techniques, but I still know a few which would probably prove to be quite useful when needed.
